Maybe this belongs in Headscratchers, but I just thought of it, if Lisa Simpson is so wise above her years, why is she still in the second grade? Shouldnt she be moved up a couple of grades? I dont know if that happens to real life child prodigies, but it's been done in other forms of fiction (Doogie Howser, We Bare Bears), and she has shown advanced scientific knowledge (ie, the giant tomato she grew).
Lisa generally doesn't do so well when removed from the sad joke of a class Ms. Hoover's class is. Like when she got into third grade or when she went to the school in another city. And since her whole self worth is based on being the kid genius, she goes back to Springfield Elementary's second grade.
Wake me up at your own risk. Also in real life it is discouraged to skip more than one year. High intelligence does not equal emotional maturity, and older children may not be willing to associate with someone several years younger than them. It can lead to isolation and emotional distress.
Optimism is a duty.Although Word of God has shot it down, there's been buzz about a scene in "Who Shot Mr. Burns?" where Krusty appears to be Homer dressed as Krusty, as in "Homie the Clown". Krusty's model is very similar but he has bags under his eyes and has a round rubber nose. Homer-as-Krusty painted his own nose red. The theory is that Homer disguised himself as Krusty to shoot Mr. Burns.
Bill Oakley says this wasn't intentional.

When you have to explain something was not a subtle twist, just bad artwork.
Optimism is a duty. The Real Jims has made so many theories about Who REALLY Shot Mr Burns I'm surprised he doesn't go "wait, if they rushed the DNA test doesn't that mean it doesn't have to be a member of the Simpsons family?"
Believe it or not, it's not the craziest theory about that episode I've heard.
Yes, someone suggested that Superdude, the dead gerbil, would be the shooter. Although I'm pretty sure this was a joke.

I was watching The Italian Bob, when this line came up.
"Dad, don't act like Mussolini." "Oh, I thought I was doing Donald Trump."
This was back in 2005. How? Why? Where did that even come from?
I mean, seriously??

Optimism is a duty. He's been around for a long time and ran for president in the past so
New theme music also a boxHeck, Bloom County had a long series in the 1980s where Trump's brain was implanted in Bill the Cat's body. Trump has been a famous jerk for a long time.

It's in text, but Homer Simpson gives an interesting graduation speech.
Cool,what does he say?
New theme music also a boxIt's essentially a parody of a graduation speech, where he talks about how bad the world is now and most of what you learn in college means nothing in the future.
The older 4:3 episodes will be available in the original aspect ratio starting 5/28. The widescreen edited episodes will still be available.
Took them long enough

Here's a page from the table read of the 700th episode.
The 700 episode should be the last one,but it's not
New theme music also a boxWonder what the couch gag will be.
Wake me up at your own risk.Aw nuts, they disabled the comments section on the video of that one part in "My Sister, My Sitter." The part where Rod and Todd run for their lives at the very mention of a ladybug, which causes Lisa to quip "They're gonna get eaten alive in middle school." There was a comment I wanted to add to that. >.<
White voice actors will no longer voice person of color characters on the show.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."It would also be decent if they added more diverse characters to the child cast as well. Aside from Janey and Hibbert's kids, most of the kids in Springfield are white.
Your asking for too much from them, easier just to change the voice actors
New theme music also a boxAlso it would have been fun if had the Muslim characters they introduced be recurring ones, instead of one offs.
There are like two black children in Springfield Elementary too

I was referring to fanvids like these:
Apparently they're non-ironic. I understand Simpsonwave, but Sad Simpsons edits just seem like bad [=AM Vs]... Still, they're some of the most popular Simpsons content out there.
