Because this game, fundamentally, needs MORE LOVE.

Its one of the most expensive non-limitted games I''ve tried to track down - discs tend to go for $200 and be sold almost instantly in stores around here. Really hoping Sony rerelease it.

[up][up] Good luck trying to play it without emulation, friend.

[up] I doubt it'll come on PSN sense... not a lot of people actually bought/played it.

I loved this back in the day. It was probably the first game I truly loved.

Seriously hoping it gets released on the PSN some day (that or receives a remake).

The really, really awful translation ruined this game for me. I think I would have enjoyed it otherwise.

Discs go for $200? Really? Time to eBay my copy!

Wait, $200? That can't be right. I picked this up a year ago for like thirty bucks.

I was replaying it a few years back and got a new copy when the game repeatedly got stuck on the part (didn't help). I don't recall it being expensive or hard to find.

I don't remember it being that expensive. I bought it about two or three years ago, and it was less than $50.

That said, it's quite a good game, aside from the lulzworthy dialogue.

I remember reading an entire strategy guide for this game, even though I never owned it. I was an easily entertained kid.

I've been playing it non-stop lately. Just now beat the first disk. It took me 50 hours, but I tend to over-grind (for instance, I beat Emperor Doel with Dart at Level 22, when the recommendation is to be at about 16).

It's nostalgic, but some traits of the game I'd like to see modernized. A remake or a sequel would be amazing.

Hell, I'd settle just for a retranslation. Legend of Dragoon was a fun game with good mechanics, an interesting setting, and a surprisingly involved story, but it suffered pretty badly from a mediocre translation.

I've been playing the PSN rerelease, and I have to agree on the translation thing. I haven't seen any standout bad lines yet, but the grammar and phrasing is just really off. And one moment between Lavitz and Dart seemed almost stupidly homoerotic, completely unintentionally.

I just beat the second disc: this time it took me 65 hours, even though this was a shorter disc. The most common recommendation is to beat this disc at level 22-23; in my case, Dart is level 36 with the rest at 31 (the whole party has their final Additions and is a level 5 Dragoon, aside from Meru of course). Like I said, I tend to over-do grinding/training.

I'll probably take it easier on this next disc since. Without any simple goals like Addition grinding in front of me, there aren't any reasons to feel "unprepared." Some people have been known to beat the final boss at my current level.

OMG OMG OMG. I don't usually fanboy like this, but OMG.

Sony renewed the trademark.

This was in June, after the game started selling like crazy on the PSN. Just OMG.

Man, oh man, the memories. You bastards gave me a nostalgia shock in the middle of work! I still hold up Damia's tower as an example of awesome stuff that could be done even with the PS 1's hardware. I think I still have my discs around somewhere.

http://linkters.com/releasedart-campaign-help-get-dart-from-legend-of-the-dragoon-back-in-playstation-all-stars/

And so as it turns out, Dart was being considered for the roster of Playstation All Stars Battle Royale. Mike Edwards, one of the artists working at SuperBot Entertainment (he was presumably let go after they downsized) revealed on his website (which has since been taken down) a working 3-D model for Dart that was going to be used as DLC.

And there we have it: Lo D would've made its debut on the PS 3, but the game under-performed.

Now the fans have started a twitter campaign ala Operation Rainfall to get Sony Santa Monica (the current holders of the PSASBR title) to finish whatever work on Dart that SuperBot may have left behind, and get him out there (because the demand exists).

There's also a petition on Change.org, but using a site like that for a game is a little silly (of course, I signed it anyway).

I think we can safely say that this was why they renewed the trademark. If you want the series to get any acknowledgement after Shuhei Yoshida revealed the cancelled sequel, this right here is it.

I remember this game a little fondly, but I never played it all that much. I don't know if I even got past disc two. But someday, I would like to beat the game.

Tell me I'm not the only one that really liked the game's intro song! It was so good.

ProJared actually put this game on his list of the top 10 JRPGs not made by Square Enix.

I think this game is a bit of a cult classic, underdog kind of game that got a lot of criticism for being a ripoff of the PS 1 Final Fantasy games. Honestly, I don't think it's too much of a ripoff of FF. The battle system is very different from most FF games.

One thing I remember is that some of the voice clips in battle were kind of narmy, though I can't think of any specific lines right now.

If a new Legend of Dragoon game were announced, I think that would be pretty awesome.

We got the game used pretty cheap a little while after it came out, probably when the local stores were trying to move their inventory of last-gen games with all of the new consoles on the horizon. I had no idea that it got so valuable in its physical form.

The ending scene had some really awful voice acting. There's this point where Shana is supposed to be screaming, but it's this really halfhearted "aaahhh" instead. I don't recall the translation being anything to write home about either - some of the dialogue was really awkward.

And that's not getting into that scene at the end of the third disc with Rose being all "NO. THIS CAN NOT BE."

But besides all that, I loved this game. I picked it up on sale because I no longer have the physical copy, and it's been years since I played it. It was already old when I got around to it, but it was one of my favorites for a while.
