So is Noblewoman's Laugh. We still translate the title, since again, we ain't all otaku around here.
"Did anybody invent this stuff on purpose?" - Phillip Marlowe on tequila, Finger Man by Raymond Chandler.Hey, that one is in TRS too. Thanks for reminding me.
Calling someone a pedant is an automatic Insult Backfire. Real pedants will be flattered.I see Aliens and Tiny Toon Adventures. Tiny Toon Adventures seems debatable because of the thing with "in-betweened in Asia", so that makes one or two. What am I missing? The others look clearly Japanese or Japanese-inspired in origin. We've got a Japanese musician, an Animesque webcomic, an Animesque cartoon, a Humongous Mecha film inspired by Gundam, and three video games that were made in Japan.
No French examples. And I think the French version is a different trope, anyway, since it carries connotations of disbelief, which seems like not the same thing.

Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.I've moved Red Eye and its wicks to Eyelid Pull Taunt, turned Red Eye into a disambiguation, created ImageLinks.Eyelid Pull Taunt and cutlisted ImageLinks.Red Eye and updated Renamed Tropes and the FAQ thread.
After the discussion move, we should be done here.

Vote up for yes, down for no.
I count a lot more than two on the trope page. Besides, it has a French and Quebecois name, so it's obviously not just Japanese.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!
