Is this even a trope?: Loads And Loads Of Writers

Loads and Loads of Writers. 9 examples. A whopping 1 wick.

Maybe it's just me, but "This work has lots of writers" seems to be People Sit On Chairs. I mean, even your average cartoon (or your not-so-average cartoon) will have a whole glob of writers.

So yeah, Not A Trope in my book. What say you?

(As an aside, this was created at least 13 months ago and never had a YKTTW.)

Misuse of people sit on chairs. It does not mean that something is common. It would be PSOC if it had no effect on the final work. This has an effect on the work. Therefore it's not PSOC. Learn what pages mean before you try to use them.

Seems more like trivia to me

Trivia I'll give as a possibility, but this is the reason behind things like Depending on the Writer, and it often leads to series having a less than cohesive feel.

I still get the feeling that it's not a trope. As I said, loads of works have loads of writers.

Any other good reason that it's positively dying?

Because it wasn't crosswicked and didn't spend time in the YKTTW to gather examples. That will kill even the best tropes.

Do you think it's salvageable though?

I think so. I think maybe a better way to do the trope page might be to just explain the concept of group written media and how it effects the final product and then link the related tropes like Depending on the Writer.

Yes, back to YKTTW. Incidentally, I could have sworn we already had this.

Edit: Ah, I was thinking of Too Many Cooks Spoil the Soup. As written that's an In-Universe trope, although it mentions the Too Many Writers situation.

What about merging them?

I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.

Since Too Many Cooks Spoil the Soup limits examples to "intentional invocations of this as an Aesop," and that just doesn't happen with Loads and Loads of Writers, merging them is out of the question.

This is definitely trivia and not a trope.

[up]I'd say it's on the same level as Casting Tropes, somewhere between actual story tropes and Trivia.

All right, I could have sworn we had a page called Casting Tropes. Apparantly it's Characters and Casting.

So what do you recommend? We've had five people say five different things, as usual.

List in the "Regarding the Trivia namespace" thread (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=7hmzjqzf8jytltqvjdadxidj) and crowner over in Special Efforts. I believe Page Action crowners are good for this kind of situation too.

There is now a page action crowner for this trope here. Feel free to add options as you see fit.

This looks a lot like Shared Universe, but more.

[up]How do you figure that? Shared Universe is about multiple works in a single continuity, while this is about a single work.

That distinction wasn't clear to me from the description.

In fact, adding something like "Compare Shared Universe, when a continuity of multiple works has multiple authors." would make the description more clear.
