"just being in uniform makes you hotter, often expressed with the phrase "I love a man in uniform, " " is what it was supposed to be. It really looks like it needs a thorough scrub-down,a dn to be explicitly limited to in-universe occurences — when one or more characters indicate that another character looks really good in their uniform.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Supporting a clean-up.
It does not matter who I am. What matters is, who will you become? - motto of Omsk BirdAlso supporting clean-up as proposed.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickSupporting clean up, though I already know of a few anime and video game examples that will need to be cleaned up already just to get rid of troper opinions.
+1 for the cleanup.
Nthing cleanup.
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.Okay, I tweaked the description a little. Would welcome some help culling the bad examples.
Oh my god... D: Looking at the page again, it's almost ALL OF THEM

Screaming along at mach .2 with my hair on fire.I have been guilty of mis-use. That said I can't remember any specific use of the trope as intended ie in uniform = sexier. Maybe go back to YKTTW for examples?
"You want to see how a human dies? At ramming speed." - Emily Wong.If this is supposed to be about people looking better in uniform, I would think that the name should have some sort of hint of uniforms.
Rename.
If this is supposed to be about people looking better in uniform, it would seem to belong to the Fetish Fuel wiki.
Nous restons ici.I admit I thought this was, well, exactly what it says on the tin... privates that are good-looking. If it's specifically supposed to be "uniforms make you hotter", then yeah, gonna need some major cleanup on aisle six.
Apparently I am adorable, but my GF is my #1 Groupie. (Avatar by Dreki-K)I almost wonder if a split is in order.
Good-Looking Privates would be the military equivalent to Fair Cop and Firemen Are Hot.
Then we could create another trope for "uniforms make people hotter". I Love A Man In Uni(gets snuffed out by the anti-Stock Phrase police)
Agree with . Played Guess The Trope, I was certain that this was only for sexy military men/women (as in Privates), NOT for uniforms in general. Not sure that the latter would make a good trope, it's very broad (just my opinion).
[The rest was unintelligible.]I think that police, firemen, and military covers the types of uniforms that get called hot in shows. I think there might be a trope for someone who finds any type of uniform hot, but I don't think it would exactly be a supertrope, because it would be about the oggler, not the ogglee. If anyone likes that trope idea, YKTTW is thataway.
I think the only thing needed here is cleanup of the not in-universe examples.
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee. In Uniform Is Hotter would be a great trope.
"You want to see how a human dies? At ramming speed." - Emily Wong.bump, aside from coming with a new name, we're gonna have to remove just about all of the examples on this page.
I cleaned up the page.
It's shorter but it's enough. I also got to add the only example I'm sure of.
Much better. I don't think we need that quote on the top either.
I've now taken down the quote and also realised that the picture also comes from the old regime and took that down too.
Excellent.
It does not matter who I am. What matters is, who will you become? - motto of Omsk BirdSo, instead of just having a note tacked on the bottom informing people that this only applies to In-universe situations, can we just rewrite the trope description to make that clear from the beginning?

I think Good-Looking Privates is just "Gushing About Hot Actors in Uniform," which is a BIG SHAME, because there's a really good, near-universal trope that's being blocked by this article's existence. It's a omnipresent, cross-cultural idea that just being in uniform makes you hotter, often expressed with the phrase "I love a man in uniform," and others like it. If you look in the Real Life section or the (now gone?) Troper Tales section, you'd see a lot of that.
I move for a rewrite and a major overhaul on examples, but a Split is another option. Discuss.
