I doubt that Marvel/Disney would never consider Rhousey at all but then again Scarlett Johansson is still getting a Black Widow movie despite defending Woody Allen and whitewashing in Hollywood.

Defending him is a little more recent and she's a high profile star,she's practically immune to get black listed

Yeah, I'm not exactly a fan of Johansson either. While I don't like how it went down, I'm not too sorry about her not showing up in future MCU movies.

Even beforehand I didn't think she was a particularly compelling Widow acting-wise. Most of my affection for the character comes from her depiction in Winter Soldier, which came down to a mix of a decently performance of some really stellar writing and Johannsen's chemistry with Chris Evans which can't be maintained now that Cap has been retired from the MCU.

Looks like things really kicked off for her after the Olympics.

Not everything is problematic, but a lot of things have some problematic aspects. You can simply choose to accept those aspects with some criticism and...I don't know, go the Tumblr route and declare the entire work to be tainted and NOBODY SHOULD EVER WATCH IT EVER blah blah blah.

Johansson being a shitty self-centered person has been known for quite a while now. I knew at least as far back as the Ghost in the Shell debacle.

I also knew about the ronda Rousey thing bc of her performance in mortal Kombat ticking people off. I think she's also made some transphobic comments in the past.

What frustrates me about the Rousey thing is that she's also taking on the nickname (and actual leather jacket) of a Wrestling Legend (who had the jacket given to her by his family with his permission before his death) so she's not just doing things that look badly on her: she's tainting his name.

The poor acting was something that could have been forgiven (though it likely would not have been), but the fact that she's done this other shit is not cool.

With Scarlett Johansson Marvel has the excuse that they did actually sign her before her really problematic traits came to the surface, way back in 2010, and by the time Johansson really started to self-destruct her image with Ghost in the Shell and open defenses of Woody Allen they could argue Johansson was too associated with Black Widow to replace.

Ronda Rousey is worse because they'd be hiring her after she already exploded her entire image in a multitude of ways (losing badly at UFC, terrible performance in Mortal Kombat, sandy hook denying, e.t.c).

Hell, if she'd been there, she could have done the snap. While we don't know what affect using the gauntlet would have had on her, I'd guess she has a much better chance of tanking it than Bruce or Thanos.

I mean, I know the Doylist reason that she probably could have prevented a lot of the issues that came up at the end, but there doesn't seem to be a doylist reason why she was left out..
