Getter Robo? A giant mech built and designed to fight off an army of biomechanical dinosaurs. Though itd be a better fight against the dinobot combiner.

Yeah that matchup is a thematic winner.
I was thinking of other hotblooded Super Robot types like Mazinger or Gao Gai Gar but you can't go wrong with Getter.
Nero (Devil May Cry) vs Raiden (Metal Gear) - white haired contrasting sequel protagonists who got rescued from the scrappy heap.
Wolverine vs Vandal Savage - They're both really old, really hard to kill and good at killing.
I think I missed the part where Nero was ever a scrappy??
I think it's at least tangentially connected to the Dead Weight thing from Devil May Cry 5. Allegedly there's a portion of the fanbase upset about Nero's inclusion in Devil May Cry 4, and there was some Fandom Rivalry between fans who prefer Dante to Nero. There's probably some exaggeration on how many people actually hated Nero, but the Dead Weight meme didn't help that misconception.

Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).Nero was an absolute Replacement Scrappy when he was first unveiled. It's not hard to see why; he was the new protagonist who didn't look like he was bringing anything new to the table and Dante's one of the most beloved video game characters of all time.
But when it was released 4 was awesome and Nero got plenty of cool moments and Dante was a completely playable character so it mostly blew over.
I guess there is also the fact that the game that introduced Nero almost killed the franchise but that's history anyway
Uni catNero was rescued from a combination of his debut game giving him some impressive moments, Dante being playable in said debut game, a controversial reboot and DMC 5 winning back the crowd.
That's actually much longer than it took for Raiden from what I hear.
Raiden was rescued by having two Happy Ending Override's, becoming a ninja, and because Platinum Games got their hands on him. Post-Revengeance reactions were pretty much...

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Speaking of Platinum Games, I think it'd be cool to have a battle royale between each of the protagonists, such as Jack Cayman, 2B, and the Astral Chain protagonist.
It's been 3000 years…How ridiculous does Nier Automata and Astral Chain get?

Uni catThe most highkey fight in Automata is against Grün, which is essentially a giant living EMP generator that clocks in at 1000 meters. That said, 2B (and the rest of YoRHa) fights it from within flight mechs that don't do much and they end up destroying it by firing a nearby anti-Goliath cannon in its mouth to destroy it from the inside out.
I will say 2B (and in general most androids) are ridiculously durable, but compared to what Platinum's protagonists are usually known for doing damage-wise she kinda struggles to keep up.

🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaI guess Bayonetta is hands down the strongest followed by Raiden?
I don't think Raiden counts as a platinum but meh.
Uni catIf we're counting 2B then we should probably count Raiden.
The Wonderful 101 as a collective are probably Bayo's Equals. Add the platinum Robo and the various ga goojin mechs they collect alongside Vorkken's pirates, and then they probably outclass even her.
Watch SymphogearI still want to see a character from Slayers to appear.
Lina, Gourry (who I’ve brought up before) or maybe Zelgadis would be pretty cool.
One Strip! One Strip!Platinum Battle Royale would be epic but Bayonetta'd probably take it handily.
Like I've heard some people argue that swordmasters like Raiden or 2B could outplay Bayonetta's gimmicky arsenal but they forget that Bayonetta is actually really good with a Katana herself.
Still haven't beaten Astral Chain. Will get back when I do.

If we allow 2B's usage of the Pods, she would likely be able to hack into Raiden and the Astral Chain mechs even without 9S.
That said... yeah. Bayonetta stomps all over her.
The legions in Astral chain... Probably are hackable, actually, given their control mechanism. Howard can bring them back into line via Heroic Willpower though.
They once said that Archie Sonic would curb stomp Mario because of his reality defying feats, but how would Archie Sonic fare against 64 Mario? You know, the one who can backwards long jump so fast he can travel to quadruple parallel universes. At the very least, I think it'd make a good DBX battle.
And Hiei continues to have 0 chance of winning, with everyone going for Sasuke.
Which is sad because I think he deserves better.
Hiei gets the moral victory of knowing he's the better character.
Here's a question, what character could fit against Grimlock from the Transformers.
Basically a humongous (even among his brethren) rowdy, rebellious, fire sword & shield wielding robot who can turn into a fire-breathing T-Rex.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."
