I played some of Super Princess Peach but never finished it, but I was pretty disappointed to find out that the whole thing with Perry was never resolved.

"Death's vastness holds no peace. I come at the end of the long road—neither human, nor devil... All bends to my will." -Demifiend.Super Princess Peach didn't fly to the overall public back in the day, and it sure as hell wouldn't fly now. It would require a massive reimagining and reworking for a sequel to be accepted. Hell, maybe even get rid of the Super Princess Peach name entirely,

"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."Why?
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.The use of emotions as superpowers is using stereotypes.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."So.
It only matters because Peach is a girl.
At least, I think.

YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.I think they could theoretically ditch the emotion mechanic entirely if they ever made a sequel. That was a result of the whole “Vibe Scepter” plot anyway and that at least got resolved. We’ve already seen in other games that Peach can function just fine with more traditional gameplay, maybe with just some more Perry mechanics added.
I agree that the whole debacle is a bit of a double standard though. I doubt that “emotion powers” would raise nearly as many eyebrows with a male protagonist.
Oh yeah, I agree, but these topics are so hot button at the moment that stirring the hive would have the potential of a PR disaster.
"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."What's kinda silly about people getting upset over that is the fact that it actually makes Peach look awesome. Everyone in her kingdom is collectively losing their shit because they can't control their emotions and Peach can not only perfectly control her emotions despite magical influence, she can weaponize them.
Fuck yeah, Peach. You show them what you got.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!plus that i always felt peach was the exception to nintendo's women and not the rule. like it's fine she likes girly things and likes to cook and doesn't like to fight. there are tons of girls in nintendo who are bad ass (like paula, rosalina, samus, lucina, kumatorra, female pokemon protagonists etc.)
plus that she's badass in her own way, as seen in mario 2, 3d world, and super princess peach.
Also I hate the argument that "peach doesn't fight back" I mean, what else are you going to do when your kidnapped, especially by an Eldritch Abomination like bowser?
you make me want to do terrible things to you~is bowser really that eldritch
his motives and nature are pretty comprehensible
yeah but still, if you were held hostage by that thing would you try to fight and/or provoke it?
you make me want to do terrible things to you~He's a big dope so yeah, probably.
Oh really when? She does try to escape if 3Dland is any indication.
Think of Peach and Bowser as average Smash players, in that sense Peach can't really win.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.I'd like a Mario game where you play as Peach with floaty controls and an umbrella that doubles as a sword.
It's been 3000 years…Also she tries to scape in paper mario as well as ttyd, if im not mistaken
you make me want to do terrible things to you~The fact that she tries to escape is not as significant as the fact that she kept telling you where all the Star Spirits were.
Hell, Peach has been playable more times than Zelda has.
She’s just got the bad luck of having her role being cemented. It doesn’t matter what else happens, or why but her getting kidnapped is always going to be part of a Mario game.
It’s not really fair, but that’s how it is.
One Strip! One Strip! If she's not the damsel du jour, Peach is quite often on the frontlines herself
Song of the SirensIn Super Paper Mario Peach is funnily enough the (debateably) best fighter due to her parasol blocking everything.
"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobUh, not really.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.@32ndfreeze:
While she does have that Game-Breaker ability, it doesn't automatically make her the Jack of All Stats or the Master of All; it just makes her the best in a Stone Wall context.

I like Super Princess Peach. It's like a mellow cousin of Yoshi's Island, and maybe it's that I'm a dude but I didn't think the emotion thing was offensive. Lots of Nintendo games have a theme like "colors" or "seasons," and "emotions" seemed to fit in perfectly well with them.
I'd love another game starring Peach, but yeah, Super Princess Peach has more or less become pure Snark Bait so Nintendo would do well to rebrand it.
Don't forget my girl Dixie Kong!

Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?TFW you realize that Super Princess Peach technically turned her into an Avatar.
If you have 90 minutes to spare, GameXplain made an analysis video for Mario Maker 2.
The blatantly unresolved plot regarding Perry and his origins? Which sticks out especially because of how rarely Mario games even have much of a plot, let alone an unresolved one.
