Completely agree with the split.
Some nitpicks on each definition:
- Anthology: A series of stories (Add "or short works") with an unifying theme (add "or characteristic" '), usually by multiple authors, (add gathered into a single volume").
Omnibus: A group of (change to "works") (add "collected in a single volume"), usually from the same series ( add "or by the same author").

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Now here are the task:
- Split off Omnibus and give it its own page. Whatever we use YKTTW or not is what we should decide.
- Expand the definition of both pages, especially Omnibus. Poor thing only have about three sentences.
- Check for any misuse. This should be easy.
- More Wiki Love for Omnibus.
- ???
Also, should we give Collection its own page, since it is mentioned in this article too?

Omnibus also includes stories originally published as serials and then later collected into a single volume, correct?
I think so, but I need to look up Omnibus...
EDIT:
And anthology:
a collection of selected writings by one author.
Also, should we have the page Collection or is that overkill?

Y'know, the dictionary definitions have a lot of overlap. Two different tropes with that fuzzy of a line dividing them are usually a problem waiting to happen.
As I see it, we can go one of two ways: accept that the definitional differences are really blurry and leave them as one thing, or draw a bright clear line between them, even if it's not exactly the way the dictionary defines them.
If we decide to draw our own line, I would suggest that it be
- Anthology = collection of works by different authors, united by a common characteristic (theme, subject, form, time period, original source... could be almost anything). They do not have to have been previously published.
- Omnibus: collection of works all by the same author, that were published elsewhere previously.
That's distinct enough. Should I split Omnibus right now, or should we wait?
What about a collection? You wouldn't call a compilation of comic issues an omnibus, since they are usually by different authors but it is the same story.
Necro BUMP. It's fortunate I mis-clicked and got to page ten.
Should I YKTTW Omnibus to get more examples, or should I just split if off now?
I'd favour the acquisition of examples, myself, so there's a vote for sending it through YKTTW.
We do need more examples. Run it through YKTTW.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Send it through YKTTW.
Send it to YKTTW for more examples. It's a good split though.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickThey're too different. For a non-literary example of why, the Charlie Parker Omnibus is a music books that's a huge collection of Charlie Parker tunes. Something like that can't be an anthology (Not even literature!)
Sorry for not creating the YKTTW. I'll get to that now.
BUMP. The YKTTW is still around. A split is still in order, since putting two formats together that share very little on the same page needs fixing.
BUMP. Any opinions?
Okay, I'm about to launch Omnibus.
EDIT: Okay, It's launched. I'm adding it to some indexes. Anything else I have to do before I holler?

Epic thread resurrection power activate!
Seriously though, Omnibus is split off from Anthology. This is good.
Most of the examples in Anthology are now of Omnibusses (Omnibi?). This is bad.
Love has been graciously extended to Omnibus, should we not extend similar love to Anthology?
Angry gets shit done. The anime and comics sections were all omnibuses, and they were already duplicated on the Omnibus page, so I got rid of them. I think the page is almost completely free of them now.
Is there a reason there are films listed on Anthology when there's an Anthology Film subtrope? I guess I'll just move them all.

Is this complete?

Okay, who's idea was it to put Anthology and Omnibus—two types of formats that are similar but has big differences—in the same page?
Anthology: A series of short stories with an unifying theme, usually by multiple authors.
Omnibus: A group of novels/issues collected in a single volume, usually from the same series.
We need to split Omnibus off and give in more love. Anthology is smothering it.
I can hear a Lumper crying. And it's not because we're splitting a page.
