BADASS CATS!
I haven't read them, but they sound sweet.
UN JOUR JE SERAI DE RETOUR PRÈS DE TOII've read up until halfway through the second series, and then lost interest. From what I've heard of the other series they don't sound that compelling either. I think the first series had an oomph that the later series don't, but that may be Nostalgia Filter.
I want to read all the books, i have only read the first and a 60 page preview of the next, and my library doesn't have they books.
Yeah! I have every single book in the series (including Expanded Universe)! Hooray! Mapleshade, Sol and Shredtail are awesome!
"Oh great! Let's pile up all the useless cats and hope a tree falls on them!"My favourite series in this series in the one that features an emphasis on Tigerstar and Firestar's kids, called The New Prophecy. My favourite was Brambleclaw, since I found his conflicting loyalties (about whether to be loyal to the memory of his father or loyal to Firestar, his leader) made him very deep and interesting as a character, and I loved his dynamic with Squirrelpaw/Squirrelflight as well, and how Squirrelpaw developed from a rather annoying, Spoiled Sweet type character into a strong, proud warrior (thanks in part to Brambleclaw) was fun to watch unfold as well; I love Character Development.
Okay I read everything released until Long Shadows and truthfully I only read after Sunset because Graystripe didn't return at the end.
The first series was the ideal place to end,it had the most zing,it was the best written, and the characters were very fleshed out, except for Bluestar being Derailed, and the Princess segments it was good. Tigerstar and Brokenstar were good villains
The first half of the The New Prophecy was written in the same vein, and until the end of Moonrise I wasn't against much of anything even if Midnight did add a bit of Fantasy Kitchen Sink with the telepathy between Leafpool and Squirrelflight and the talking badger, but then first shark jumper happened when Feathertail died. Luckily that one wasn't too awful and I liked the Tribe.
Had it ended at Dawn,it would've fit a natural trilogy,Midnight being the Too Quiet setup,Moonrise as the drama, and Dawn as the big climax, except Graystripe got kidnapped
And then came Starlight which should've began another arc,not The New Prophecy and this is where the quality started to drop. Brambleclaw started to feel like a Gary Stu and Hawkfrost was starting to become the obvious villain that I was hoping that was just a ploy.Still Tallstar died and I liked seeing Wind Clan be given A Day in the Limelight. Twilight was alight but until the climax,it felt more like two stories of teenage angst, rather than something epic, still it decent. Then Sunset rolled by and this one was just so happy-go-lucky,but the Tigerstar subplot was well handled and Berrykit was an excellent new character.Unfortunately Brambleclaw got named deputy and Graystripe still didn't return.
Starlight,Twilight, and Sunset should've been called Warriors: The New Lands or Warriors: Brambleclaw's Journey becuase they do not have the same feel in writing, characters,or plot, and its a disservice to Feathertail. But they were still full of great moments, just less than the original or Midnight to Dawn.
Then T Pot started and this is where the series rapidly went downhill starting with the huge Fantasy Kitchen Sink powers given to Lionblaze,Jayfeather, and in theory Hollyleaf, followed by the Lighter and Softer plot of The Sight,Graystripe returned but he had Millie. Then Dark River came and it was pretty much the same drek. Then Outcast masterfully derailed the entire Tribe of Rushing Water, the only good of this was Stormfur and Brooks return to the Tribe, and then Eclipse and Long Shadows introduced Sol,who I hate with a passion for just being a Jerkass with only one character type. The final straw was the predictable but sucky climax of Long Shadows which could've been made better if lets say one of the kits actually was Brambleclaw's son or Ashfur had some remorse.
I hated all of T Pot except for Eclipse, which I can only enjoy if I consider it as much canon as The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror is to The Simpsons
Obviously you can tell my favorite character is Graystripe with his laidback personality, loyalty, and foil to Firestar. I also liked Squirrelflight,Yellowfang,Stonefur,Tallstar,Stormfur,Willowpaw,Whitestorm, and Brightheart thanks to their Character Development, relationships, and personalities

Yeah, the plot got kinda dry at the point of TPoT, but IMO it got better in OotS, especially in Sign of the Moon. I'm probably the only one who thinks this. :P Also, Bluestar wasn't derailed, she just had a raging Heroic BSoD.
Also, who here has also read Seekers? They aren't bad, even if the Green Aesop is too blatant.

I'm alive and less annoying than ever before.I did read the first three Seekers books, but now that Hunter has ten thousand books and she appears to be doing more Seekers,I'm not going on,that way I can remember Seekers as good without Jumping the Shark
A shame Toklo's a Jerkass
Sorry to bump old threads, but I want to talk about Warrior Cats as I wait for The Last Hope.
But he's so awesome I can ignore it.
"Oh great! Let's pile up all the useless cats and hope a tree falls on them!"Yuck, I really didn't like Seekers. Heavy-handed Green Aesop really annoyed me.
Personally OotS is my fave, except for Hollyleaf coming back all redeemed and stuff. I was totally holding out for her being awesome and deranged.

I have The Last Hope. It's amazing.
Hollyleaf dies. I so called it!
"Oh great! Let's pile up all the useless cats and hope a tree falls on them!"I did not expect that Firestar would be the fourth cat. It kind-of seemed like a cop-out to me. I guess that it kind of makes sense, but I prefer it when important cats from previous series aren't focused on as much, though I see why they focused on him in this case. By the way, is this as far-forward in the timeline as the series is going to go? It sounded like the series was capping off.
Well it's about time, maybe with this prequel series the whole thing will be worth reading again

I'm actually not as interested in reading all these sequels. I'm not that interested in all the other things that were going on in the forest during the series, since it's all got to fit in line with what we already know. In other words, it can fill in, but not move forwards.
I loved The Last Hope. It's probably my favourite Warriors book. I heard that originally the leader was going to be Squirrelflight.
"Oh great! Let's pile up all the useless cats and hope a tree falls on them!"I didn't like it that much. I think that it showed the scope of the war with the Dark Forest pretty well, but the writing seemed forced to me, as if the author knew what needed to happen and forced the characters and the circumstances to fall in-line with her plan. Also, what was up with that lightning bolt? I find it hard to believe that it was merely chance that it happened to strike Firestar. Did Tigerstar manage to throw it on Firestar, even though he had just died for what should be the final time? If he has that power, then why didn't he use it before?
Huh. I haven't read it yet but I was expecting Hollyleaf to be the fourth. Pity that isn't the case though.
Really? I thought it was going to be Cinderheart. She's the only cat besides the Three who we know has been reborn.

I was expecting Ivypool to be the fourth. Wow, that's all of the big four * between us except the actual fourth.
"Oh great! Let's pile up all the useless cats and hope a tree falls on them!"I honestly never expected it to be Firestar. That thought never crossed my mind.
What do you guys think of Skyclan? Personally, I really like them. I like how friendly and open that clan is.
I think Billystorm is really epic, but it seems most other fans hate his guts.
I'm going to write a fanfic of it called Golden Dawn, which I've been planning for a while.
"Oh great! Let's pile up all the useless cats and hope a tree falls on them!"People hate him? Why? His name is kind of lame, but I don't see any problem with him besides from that.
Because they believe that he shouldn't be both kittypet and warrior, just one. He choses at the end of After The Flood, but that's beside the point. The daylight warriors in general have a big Hate Dumb.
"Oh great! Let's pile up all the useless cats and hope a tree falls on them!"So basically, people agree with a lot of the non-Daylight warriors. Personally, I like the Daylight warriors. Sure, they don't seem to be totally in the clan, but they provide some much-needed hunters.
Exactly What It Says on the Tin, this thread is for discussion of Warrior Cats.
First, for me, I'm impatiently waiting for The Forgotten Warrior to come out. I started reading these books two years ago and have never been able to put them down since.
(Please note that, judging by the fanbase's varied opinions on some topics, that I would like to keep flame wars to a minimum. Yes, it is fine to state your opinion, but please do not provoke others to argue with you.)
So...discuss away!
I'm alive and less annoying than ever before.
