So this isn't lost on the last page, I reiterate:
Gault, you've kind of rushed ahead with the bank escape without addressing my last post, and now I've got no idea how to proceed.
this place needs me hereHow about a dormant volcano that's since been covered in dense forest? Maybe it's been partially developed into a touristy locale, or there's at least a hostel near-by for weary travellers or something.
Not entirely dead.Blah, a day poorly wasted...
I need to improve my ability to do things while I wait for other things.
this place needs me hereI don't want a volcano.
Well...why?
Nous restons ici.I'm worried someone's going to make it erupt.
Moving on from the environment for a moment, I'd like to get back to discussing the hub. Personally, while I don't want it to be a beach resort, I think Resort would be a better model to follow than Mansion in the sense of having a large area with a lot of things to do instead of just a single building with few-to-no built-in things to interact with.
Sorry Ryuhza, other people started posting their characters as being back outside so I didn't really know how to deal with the disconnect. I think it's best just to assume the commandos ignored Joe and brought him and Rachel outside as well.
yeyWell that's great...
I guess I'll just skim over the details and rush to the end with everyone else. Big sigh.
this place needs me here... We could put the volcano in the Safe Zone, then it would just be a mountain.
Not entirely dead.Sorry if it put a stopper on anything you might have planned. I probably should have kept track of individual characters better.

yeyI can't say I'm big on the idea of a volcano either, especially if we go with the forest setting (though I do like Darkblood's twisted forest suggestion from a couple pages back).
I'm not so sure how we're supposed to work with the Hub beyond the bare basics without an environment, unless we're going to get really crazy and make it so that the Hub and everything else are completely different environments (which actually sounds rather interesting). That said, I do agree that the Resort model is probably the best way of setting it up.
Icon by Civvi the Civilian!I just realized something hilarious.
Who was the being that gave Wilhelm his power. Jack.
Who executed Wilhelm? Jack Taggart.
What civilization created the core that Kokabiel currently inhabits? Song.
Who was the one who promised Kokabiel to secure the core to Centerpoint Tower? Chloƫ Song.
This is so coincidental, I think I'll imply that it was my Evil Plan all along.

It's okay. I feel like the disconnection is a more widespread issue anyway.
I'll work on a post now.
Just a reminder, KC, I'm waiting on you to continue Mansion.

this place needs me hereHuh.
I don't know if I'd actually be in favor of this, but it's thought-provoking.
Are we talking ball or AP? And from what range? I've done the maths on Starkad's AP round, and it looks like, at point blank range, it can penetrate 30mm of RHA at 60 degrees. Again, not planning on shooting Linna, I'm just being a curious weapons nerd.
What's the range of the ADS, how does it defeat the RPG type weapons (I'm assuming M72 LAW or better) and are there any exposed hoses/hydraulics/anything that might be less durable than the rest of the suit on the outside?
Regarding the island idea, I like the idea of it being a forest, but I just want to put the idea of it being a temperate rainforest. It doesn't have to be hot, just moist, and the plants tend to be very different to tropical rainforests.
I'll also reluctantly agree with the thought that we need to nix any sort of active or dormant volcano, probably because I'd be the one who erupted it. I do still think that the islands being formed by volcanic activity is a good idea, though. Lots of rich soil, volcanic glass for former/current-but-in-hiding natives to use for weapons, lava tubes, the possibility for a lake at the top of a mountain, a lost city from an ancient stone age civilization, etc.

Cattle die, kinsmen die you yourself die; I know one thing which never dies: the fate of the honored dead. Not that-quality AP (maybe?) but more common variants, and point-blank, effectively, but it will only deflect a small number of rounds before failure.
As for the ADS, it can detonate inbound warheads via a laser, or explosively vaporize portions of a kinetic penetrator to knock it off course and make it tumble. I've never nailed down the range; it's probably short, however, as the system is quick to retarget but can be overwhelmed relatively easily.
The answer to how it handles those things that hits is it's Pure Fucking Magic, but it's a demonstrated ability of combat robots and powered armor where they're from. (The K-12Z is roughly two hundred and fifty kilograms; Linna's hardsuit is around seventy.)

Nous restons ici.Well, I got most of what I wanted out anyway, just with less input from others than I'd've liked.
Also, could someone fill me in on the restaurant a bit? I've been a little lax in following it, but it seems like the best place to put my new character without involving him in a fight extremely out of his league, or something else where he'd be less than relevant.

Interesting. If the two of them ever face off, Linna's going to get a nasty surprise when his assault rifle tears through her armour :p .
Fair enough re: the K-12Z. Is there anything exposed that might be considered a weakness/would be an actual weakness? The face plate, perhaps?
Also, to be fair, Starkad's armour is pretty basic low profile body armour, at least in his universe. With all his webbing on, it doesn't look like he's wearing it, but Bat Ears could probably pick up on the intermetallic plates rubbing against each other. It'll stop all lead core rounds up to the 7.62 NATO point blank, as well as all 7.62x39mm AP rounds, the 7N10 and M 855 A 1 at 100 metres, the M 80 A 1 at 250 metres and the DBP 10 at 150 metres.
The bruises will still be pretty impressive, though :p .

If I knew how I know everything I know, I'd only be able to know half as much because my brain would be clogged up with where I know it from@MoC: I'm pretty certain Joseph, Selena, and Rachel haven't followed everyone else outside just yet (though I was planning on moving them outside in my next post anyway).
