Jessica Rabbit is pretty much the poster woman for this trope.
Better shot that shows off her entire figure. Can be resized if we go with this one.
"Thorough preparation must lead to success. Neglect nothing."I'm happy with Jessica.
Fight smart, not fair.Vote down. Jessica Rabbit is fine, but surely there's a better image that could do the job.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.I've got something in mind, but it'll have to be tonight before I can hunt for it.
Off-topic, but you know, when I saw that trope title, I immediately thought that was about a litteral hottie with an hourglass, like for example, Raven from Eternal Champions: Challenge from the Dark Side, not of a girl with big bust-small-torso-big hips ratio. :/
On topic, the Jessica pic is fine, gets my vote.

"Your kindness gives me the presentiment I can be reborn. Now, I want to believe at least in you." - Kaori YaeIf someone wants to go hunting, what I was thinking of was that silhouette decoration that you see on trucks and big rigs of the busty woman sitting down...as I remember, "she" has a pretty decent hourglass shape.
The same guy who directed the animation in Roger Rabbit later took this Up To Eleven:

I would really want to use a Jessica Rabbit pic, but that pic does an even better job that Jessica's design of highlighting the exaggeration part (which is saying a lot). It has my vote
That's beyond Up To Eleven. It runs straight into Parodied Trope territory.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.I would think Miss Bellum from Powerpuff Girls would be a good choice. For some reason I feel like Thick-Line Animation helps with this sort of trope. Because we get the outline, maybe?
Jessica Rabbit is just too much of a billion and one other tropes I can think of. I don't think I want a pic where it would work on a dozen different pages equally well or perhaps even better.
I would LOVE to get a screencap of when Nostalgia Critic talks about her (Jessica Rabbit) very unrealistic figure in his Top 11 Animated Hotties review. Unfortunately....I can't do that =_=
BUT I do think the Jessica Rabbit example is a good one. It has my vote!
Also those girls from the Winx Club show come to mind. Never watched it, but their unrealistic figures was part of the reason. It distrubed me how freaking SKINNY their waists were, I kept thinking their waists might snap in two at some point, with their bust and waist sizes.
I'm telling you right now, if I ever see a woman in real life with a waist that small◊ I'm calling a doctor for her, because she's clearly anorexic.

This is Mimi-don't let her cuteness fool you-she's got spunk. That Sara Bellum pic works fine for me.
I also like SSOT's suggestion.
Visit my contributor page to assist with the "I Like The Cheeses" project!Which Sara Bellum pic are we talking about? The first one (of her PPG appearance)◊ IMO fits more with an Exaggerated form of the trope would be. The second one (showing her PPGZ incarnation)◊, however, seems less "impossible".
BTW, in light of the apparent focus on very abnormally small waists in the proposed pics, there is an issue that I'd like to point out: Does having a "normally-sized" waist and abnormally* large/wide bust and hips qualify for the "exaggerated proportions" criterion?

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Hmmmm...either of those would work for me, but I think the first one is more of what people are thinking of for the trope.
Which is why I think the trope description is a bit too restrictive in its criteria. Besides, if we go by pics like Sara Bellum's PPG incarnation, then what would the Exaggerated Trope and Parodied Trope forms look like?
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Like a wasp where it looks like it actually narrows to a single point. Also, we often exaggerate a little for page images because it makes it easier to see the trope. The other end of the spectrum can cause people to think adding J-Lo is a good idea.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickWhy not establish the page image as the rough minimum for the trope, then?
EDIT: Nevermind. I was slighlty off in my understanding of Parodied Trope.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. The rough minimum according to the page is physically impossible without a corset.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickAnd therein lies the problem: How do you exactly define "physically impossible without a corset" - or at least, the minimum limit of such? Has there been studies on the matter?
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Yeah, it keeps real women out, but it's hard to give exact measurement, or tell exact measurements on an animated character.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickYou know, I do wonder if "impossible-in-Real Life proportions" has to be criterion, then why is the trope not named something like "Impossibly Hourglass Hottie"?
And my previous question still stands: Why not include "abnormally/impossibly huge breasts and wide hips, normal/realistically slim waists" into the trope?

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.
Crown Description:
Nominations for replacement images:
We need an image that can exemplify from the first glance what this trope is supposed to be about. Including the "exaggerated bust-waist-hip ratio" notice is all nice and good, but it still falls just short of what the trope needs to avoid misuse. (And on that note, many thanks to captainpat for catching and rectifying the first few instances of misunderstanding the trope as "any woman with a big bust, small waist, and wide hips".)
Any suggestions?
