Brie: Eh. There's not so much to do now. I've been focusing on classes, mostly, practicing some new maneuvers with the team. Sometimes I have work but it's a pretty cushy thing right now, so I've been doing some stuff helping displaced Ultra Beasts deal with our reality and maybe get back home if they want. Remember Gnho? Did you ever meet Gnho?
I'm actually sleeping most nights, which is kind of weird. My vision focuses now, which I sort of forgot was a thing.

...Metaphorically fishy. I know penguins are birds. I wasn't halfway to making a pun about Pippy before I remembered that.
It's an interesting tactic. I've never been partial to Choice items personally, they cramp my style— but I like the pairing with Metronome. Hopefully Fraidy doesn't pull Discharge or anything.
Dunsparce didn't stop being a thing or anything.

Luxray turns back towards Hatterene and lowers hisbody slightly, ready to pounce.
Bede: What can you when Trick Room is in effect?
Hoops: If you think you can beat us with one move, then you have another think coming. Use Crunch!
Luxray charges towards Bede.
Bede: Uh, you tried this already, remember? And it didn't work? I guess trying things that are useless over and over is just how just are. Psychic!
Hoops: Now, Crunch!
Luxray raises his head, and slams his jaws into the ground. Hatterene tries to lift it with its attack, but the Gleam Eyes pokemon is holding on tight and won't let go.
Bede: What? How is this possible?
Hoops: Luxray has a very strong set of jaws.
Bede: Well, how will it do against Mystical Fire!
Hatterene creates the psychic power imbued flame once more and sends three bursts of fire towards Luxray.
Hoops: Get close and use Charge!
Luxray seems to draw in power from the electric terrain. His mane stands on end as it crackles with electrical energy. The Mystical Fire makes contact, but it has less effect due to Luxray raising his special defense.
Luxray: <I hope that's not the extent of your strength?>
Hatterene: <You'd like that, wouldn't you.
Hoops: Don't stop getting closer, Luxray. Corner it!
Luxray continues prowling forwards. Hatterene begins to back up, but she doesn't have much space to go within the boundary of the pitch.
Bede: Dazzling Gleam!
Hoops: Charge!
Hatterene unleashes a burst of light pink light, but Luxray keeps coming, taking even less damage than before and still charged with electrical energy.
Bede: Psychic!
Hoops: Grab on with Crunch.
Luxray grabs onto the floor of the pitch, and once again the psychic atack has no effect. He has now almost reached Hatterene, who has nowhere left to go.
Bede: Dazzling Gleam! Bring it down!
Hoops: Charge!
The attack has almost no effect by now. Bede fights to stop the worry from showing on his face, and hides it with a cocky smile.
Bede: Even if you hit us, we can take one attack.
Hoops: Well, in that case, use Thunder Fang!
Luxray rears back to attack, and the electricity in his mane seems to pass through his mouth and into his large canines. At the same time, the last pieces of the electric terrain move into the teeth as well, to the point that they're practically glowing with energy.
He sinks his fangs into Hatterene, and electrical power fills the Silent pokemon. Hatterene yells in pain as she is electrocuted by the powerful attack.

-Raru staggers backwards, stunned by the strike.-
Daisuke: Time to go for the Hondo Rush! Use Ice Punch, Fire Punch, Thunder Punch, Dynamic Punch and Close Combat!
Me: Raru, use Psychic to follow your heart and counter!
-With a clear disregard for his defense stats, Hondo coats one fist in flames, another in subzero energy, another in lightning and a fourth in pure energy then jumps back. He jumps to the left, then back to center, then to the right, then back to center, and then lunges full force at Raru, unleashing a flurry of strikes at the Feeling Pokémon. Raru, however, closes his eyes and sends a psychic ripple throughout his body and the battlefield.-

Any misgivings Daydre had vanish upon the advent of battle. She sends out her first mon, Sylvie.

And Sylvie leaps at Pippy, arcs of electricity swirling around her. They fly out, converging on one point- him.

"Hopefully," Roxy noted, "If it's abandoned one can only hope they operate on some weird form of the honour system."
The past two jumps had been thankfully uneventful, leaving the crew time to keep up with maintenance of the ship, and of their minds.
Roxy was currently at the helm, piloting the ship with Bishop.
Silas was in the galley with Gale making some tradeables, mostly stuff like hot sauce.
"Hot Sauce will be worth its weight in gold when we get a colonized system, even if the Asimov Engine reaches the point of viable for long term, spicing your foods is gonna be important for making things taste good," Silas noted as he held up some peppers.

Isabelle's shadow could be seen cowering in a corner, Daniel standing over her. Most notably his outfit was... different from what was seen of him on the social media research done, it was a 1950s greaser outfit. Next to him was a large humanoid Banette figure, it grinned menacingly raising a hand up.
Daniel stopped and then looked over, "The hell are you people?" he asked.
Jackal glowered, "We could ask you the same thing," he said taking slow steps forward.
A scan would reveal that the Banette was in fact a persona, very similar to the ones the party had... but different in ways not yet determined.

-Daisuke tightens his bandana and then stomps his foot against the ground, assuming a battle-ready pose.-

Me: USE SHADOW SNEAK!
-The two combatants bathe themselves in a rippling aura of energy, Hondo's aura glowing a deep crimson color as if summoning all the power he has for his next attack, and Raru's aura glowing a ghostly purple color as if preparing his spirit for a mighty counterattack. The two Pokémon then charge at each other full speed. Raru punches the ground, sending a ghostly ripple of energy throughout the battlefield. Hondo then grabs onto Raru with his four arms and then jumps into the air, rapidly somersaulting as he gains height, with each somersault gaining speed. Then, a shadowy copy of Raru rises up from the ground and jumps into the air, matching Hondo's pace. As Hondo reaches the fastest speed he can spin at, he proceeds to use that moment to slam himself and Raru into the ground. The shadowy copy of Raru follows Hondo down and punches him in the back. The two attacks occurring at the same time causes a massive explosion of aura and obscura.-

(Kim takes notice of the mystical circles that Gardevoir is conjuring and looks on in awe and shock.)
Kim: "Well. This is interesting. I was not aware that Gardevoir were able to conjure circles such as those..." (She squints.) "Is that kanji...? Let me see if I can identify what they a— and never mind, it's gone."
(She then notices that Mirai is tagging out with Kako.)
Kim: "Oh? They're tagging out? That is a very interesting strategy, I must say." (she smirks) "Though of course... I would not expect anything less from Ian and Evelyn."
(She then notices the second mystical circle, and takes out her notebook, squinting a bit to see if she can see the kanji. However, it fades very quickly as Gardevoir uses Thunderbolt.)
Kim: "Dang it. That was my second shot."
(And then, just as suddenly, the attacks start flying. Kim smirks.)
Kim: "Of course they would use Shock Wave to push back an Electric attack."
(The fire circle starts up again, and Kim glances up at it, trying once again to see if she can identify the kanji, but it fades before she can.)
Kim: (noticing Kako's move) "Disarming Voice? Well-played."
(And then the third circle starts up. This time, Kim doesn't even bother writing down the kanji— she just watches as Icy Wind hits, Kako switches out with Mirai, and Heal Pulse is used.)
Kim: (to herself) "Good thing they have healing moves; otherwise Raru would be in danger. With all these mystical circles it seems that the Gardevoir is not going to make the same mistake she did with Peechee. Which, I must say... makes for a much more interesting fight."
(The Thunderbolt circle comes up again... and then Gardevoir prepares to use her ultimate attack. Almost immediately, Kim sits up and takes notice.)
Kim: "Oh dear. Her ultimate attack... the same one that took down Kec... I hope they'll be able to survive it."
(And then the Moonblast starts up, and knocks the two back. Kim grimaces a bit, but soon recovers upon seeing Raru unleash a powerful Shadow Sneak move thanks to Helping Hand that absolutely demolishes Gardevoir and sends her flying back. As soon as she sees the fainted Gardevoir, she smiles.)
Kim: "Excellent. Just as I thought." (and then the realization strikes her) "Of course... there is still the Gigantamax Hatterene they need to defeat... wonder how they'll do that, I assume."
ONE GIGANTAMAX SESSION LATER
(By this point, Piku-chan, Hatty, and the Hatterene have all either Dynamaxed or Gigantamaxed. Kim looks up eagerly at the epic battle in front of her, ready to see the final battle begin.)
Kim: "This should be fun. I assume that Piku-chan will use Max Steelspike, since Hatterene is a Fairy-ty—" (and then he does) "—yep. Exactly as I thought."
(And then G-Max Smite hits, confusing both Piku-chan and Hatty. Kim looks on, her face changing to that of slight concern.)
Kim: "Well. This is interesting. Wonder how they'll tackle this."
(And then Piku-chan uses G-Max Volt Crash and snaps both of them out of their confusion, while Hatty uses Max Starfall. Kim smirks.)
Kim: "Clever, Piku-chan... very clever indeed."
(Max Flare then happens, and Kim's eyes widen in shock and interest.)
Kim: "Oh. Apparently Hatterene can use the magical circles, too. A shame I never got to know what those kanji were..." (and then she sees Piku-chan and Hatty prepare their final combo attack) "...aaaand there's the finisher. It's over. They won." (She applauds them both from the stands, smiling.) "Just as I thought they would."
(Seconds later, G-Max Psy Volt Storm goes off.)

(Kim promptly enters the room and greets Ian and Evelyn.)

(Kim promptly gets off of the pipe organ and breaths a sigh of relief— which quickly turns to concern once she hears the name "Orochi." She runs over to Ian and Evelyn.)
Kim: "You're kidding."
MEANWHILE...
(The Centiskorch, Orbeetle, and Joltik all turn to face each other.)
Centiskorch: <"Orochi"...?>
Orbeetle: <Who the bloody hell is this "Orochi" they're goin' on about?!>
Shiny Joltik: <'O'estly, I 'ave no idea...>
(And then he notices Cuddles.)
Shiny Joltik: <'Old on a sec, is that ANOTHER GALVANTULA?!>
Centiskorch: <Another Galvantula? I only see the one.>

(Braker, Walter, and Cuddles look at each other, very confused from the conversation they are hearing.)

(The Consultant looks around, in awe of the fact that she is now in a Palace.)
The Consultant: (thinking, to herself) So this is a Palace... Having never been in one of these before, I must say it's fairly interesting...
(And then she sees Ahemait and Chu Chulainn appear along with hearing things about a potential enemy. Realizing her chance, she promptly reaches up and grabs the arm of her 3D glasses... and whips them off.
In an instant, the fire goes up, the end of [[Music/The Who]]'s "Won't Get Fooled Again" starts blaring in the background, and Triton appears in a burst of flame, ready to help.)
Triton: Meet the new Persona...
The Consultant: (smirking) "Same as the old Persona. Shall we?"
Triton: We shall. (He loads up his trident.) Whoever you are... prepare to face us!

(Kim smiles at the two challengers, then steps forward into the stadium and heads straight for the stands.)

(As soon as Kim enters the stands, she takes out a PokeBall and, without a word, sends out the member of her team that she knows will be most excited to watch this battle: Elton. The optimistic Raboot promptly emerges from his ball and smiles over at Kim.)
Elton: <'Ello, Kim! What didja need me for?>
Kim: "The battle is starting."
Elton: <The Ballonlea battle?!>
Kim: (giggles, then) "Even better." (She points down at the pitch.) "Look."
(Elton does so, and as soon as he sees Ian and Daisuke, he immediately recognizes where he is.)
Elton: (excitedly) <No way... t-this is...!>
Kim: (nods) "That's right, Elton. Wyndon Stadium. And the battle between Ian and Daisuke- Evelyn's father- is about to begin."
Elton: <ALRIGHT! This is going to be GREAT, I can tell! Go on, Ian! Show 'em what you got!>
(Kim smiles, then turns her attention back to the pitch. Doppel and Yuki are sent out seconds later, and Kim smirks.)
Kim: "Ghost on Ghost, huh? This should be fun."
Elton: <I'd expect nothing less from Ian!>
(They watch with baited breath as the two fire Ghost move after Ghost move at each other for supereffective damage. The two of them giggle at each other, before eventually Kim notices Doppel approaching Yuki.)
Kim: (suddenly growing nervous) "Oh dear."
Elton: <Kim? What's the matter?>
Kim: (pointing ahead) "Look."
(Elton does so— and notices what is going on. Stunned, his eyes widen.)
Elton: <NO NONONONONO! DON'T LOOK INTO HIS EYES, YUKI!>
(But his pleas fall on deaf ears, as he watches Yuki quickly succumb to the Hypnosis attack and fall asleep. Ever the optimist, though, Elton rubs the back of his head sheepishly and smiles.)
Elton: <Well... she'll wake up soon, at least, won't she? She's not gon' be out for long.>
Kim: "Indeed she won't... but right now Ian is in a tough situation. Let's see what he'll do..."
(And then she watches as Totoro is sent out and the Shadow Ball fazes right through him. Elton happily jumps up into the air.)
Elton: <ALRIGHT!>

(Kim and Elton watch in delight as Totoro promptly uses Rollout on Doppel twice. However, they are quickly taken aback when they see Doppel suddenly use Brick Break.)
Elton: <DOPPEL KNOWS WHAT?!>
Kim: "It's going to be close..."
(And then the cloud of smoke goes up, and Totoro gets back up, and Doppel is lying on his side. Elton immediately jumps up into the air.)
Elton: <ALRIGHT! Great work, Totoro! You sure showed 'im! Doppel did great, too! I was on the edge of my seat!>
Kim: "As was I. And something tells me it's only going to get better from here."
(They watch with intrigue as Ian and Daisuke send out Raru and Hondo, respectively.)
Kim: "Well. It appears that Ian is using Raru. He's already got the advantage; Psychic beats Fighting."
Elton: <Go on, Ian! You can do it!>
(Confusion hits, but as Kim and Elton watch Hondo use Bulk Up, they become far more concerned.)
Kim: "Oh dear. Bulk Up. I should have known Hondo would have a move like that in his set."
Elton: <It's still alright, though! Raru is Psychic/Fairy type; he should be fine!>
Kim: (far more concerned) "Yes. He should be."
(A few moves later, their concern grows even more when they see Hondo's three-element Close Combat attack.)
Kim: "Oh dear..."
Elton: <Those punches are really fast! They might even be faster than me!>
Kim: "Come on, Raru..."
(And then they see Raru use Psychic to bounce Hondo's own move back in his face. Elton starts laughing the second he sees it.)
Elton: (laughing) <Would you— would you look at that! He— he's throwing his own move... RIGHT BACK IN HIS FACE...!>
(Elton starts cracking up maniacally, and Kim giggles a bit.)
Kim: "I must admit, it is a bit funny."
(But that laughter soon stops when they see Cross Poison— and then the Hondo Rush.)
Elton: <RARU!>
Kim: "...well. Perhaps I spoke too soon."
(And then they see Raru use Psychic to evade the Hondo Rush. Elton lights up immediately.)
Elton: <Not yet, you didn't! Look!>
(Kim does, and sees Raru evading the attack. She smirks to herself.)
Kim: "An excellent strategy once again. I have a pretty good feeling about this fight."
(And then she hears the words "ultimate attack", and her and Elton promptly stare at each other in disbelief.)
Elton: <Wait, what?!>
Kim: "Ultimate attack?!"
Elton: <Raru, look out!>
(And then the ultimate attack happens, and Kim and Elton watch with baited breath as a smoke cloud goes up.)

Shutter: Yeah, you do give off that "outsider" vibe, especially with the glitching. No offense, or anything. Fallers are kind of not newsworthy back home, so we weren't going to expose you or be intrusive outside it. Still, that's kind of a weird reception.
Upton: Of course, if that's covered by the NDA, we'd gladly stop probing.
Shutter: I mean, we do have professional standards. If we found out he was a superhero or something, we say nothing and move on. Montalban insisted we have that as an actual editorial position. No exposing of superhero alter egos. We apparently set a standard with that one. As soon as we publicized it, Contact Communications did the same thing. Heck, even our sister company Vulpix decided to follow that one.
