Ahh, console video games (or vidcons as I call them). the ultimate medium of expression, able to convey any emotion ranging from hatred to love, loyalty to fear, all in front of our eyes. Ah, and with lovingly crafted art, music, and the ability to control the action, vidcons are the ultimate combination of the high arts. While I tend to play the stoic, I will be the first to admit that vidcons haven driven me to cry, to scream and shout, to feel actual hate; such is the power of this force beyond our wildest reckoning. And here I am, before you, to temp your tongues with the taint of such a tantalizing topic.
And the Japanese, the true geniuses behind the world of video games. Pah, I throw my scorn upon such incompetents of the West who would mock the true art of the Japanese with 'games' such as Baldur's Gate and Madden. Perhaps it is that the West is not as intelligent as the East, but this is a matter for another day. Japan has given us such masterpieces as the Final Fantasy series, Star Ocean, Wild Arms, and of course, Arc the Lad. Yes, some of the finest vidcons in the world were created by Japanese. I come to you today to ask you in all earnesty, what is your favorite vidcon? I will reveal mine after the grand debate has illustriously begun, but not before the first poster falls victim to my plot of discussion.
In other words, this is a thread on an imaginary forum our avatars frequent. The topic can fluctuate, and its mostly just general discussion.
Copying is definitely possible, since that's the basis of the backup system, but I've never heard of two identical instances of the same neural clouds being active at the same time.
Lovepilled and HopemaxxingSo the neural cores are run on a centralized server system, and I guess running multiple identical cores is prone to cause inconsistencies in the backup transactions? Interesting.
"What I don‘t like about measure theory is that you have to say 'almost everywhere' almost everywhere." - Attributed to Kurt FriedrichsIt could also be an ethical or legal thing. Imagine how confusing it would be if there are hundreds of identical Dolls running around. I bet you can get around quite a few laws if it's abused.
Lovepilled and HopemaxxingAh, I see the confusion going on due to our differing perspectives on the matter, so perhaps I need to clarify some things so we're on the same page. It's not that we don't want your help, but because the magic gateways can only be powered by mana cores of sufficient quality. Attempting to use any other power source will simply not work, not even those you take for granted. The cores required to power the gateways are also different from the cores that power us Dolls and our technology in general since tunnelling through space to close the gap between stars requires a lot of power, something that no individual Doll, not even myself, is capable of.
As far as I can tell, the Doll alchemist who created these gateway cores is long dead at this point, having been killed in the disaster, and her alchemic recipes have been lost as well. To say nothing if the materials needed are still around.
Sigh... You're overthinking how this device works. The device cannot calculate or estimate mana signatures. It can infer the possible presence of one, but whether it is actually mana will be dependent on the Doll observing the signatures. Since I have a lot of experience sensing mana signatures, I was able to tell that that the "Dolls" of SCW are not the same as us since they don't have the same signatures.
Finally got those video summaries into the presentation this morning. It looks really nice out. Maybe I'll visit the beach and just relax there with the wind. It should be a nice way to meditate.
Nice! Maybe I'll do the same thing.
"Looks like my type specialization changed. What do you guys think about my fairy wings?" - Iris[1] No Plans, No Prototype, No Backup, huh? You've got really poor security and backup measures for a several million year old civilization, then.
You could still try reverse-engineering the tech, did you try that? And if so, how did that work out?
[1] Like I'm kinda jealous as it's still cold where we at. Nearly frostbitten like weather, so seriously hope next week changes this.
It seems like it should be getting better but I suppose the weather isn't always accurate. Being at the beach would be a grand time.

Meet the Tamas!◊ Can't let any of those suckers live!Oh? What if I told you that the reason why we have no contingency measures is because said contingency measures were intentionally erased by those within our ranks? I'm only speaking hypothetically, of course, since I'm currently investigating into the matter myself to see if the rumors are true, but the possibility of the disaster being an orchestrated purge by our own society cannot be ruled out. After all, there was some in-fighting involved, and not every Doll shares the same ideals.
You judge too quickly, mister Icarus.
Er... I don't even know if it is possible to reverse-engineer the gateway cores with our technology. After all, if the original methods were lost, how can we test that out ourselves?
Here's the thing. There are plenty of educated people in my homeworld - if a calamity similar to yours happened in my homeworld, there would still be plenty of people left to restore the knowledge necessary to maintain our equipment, and we wouldn't have to work from scratch. Did the creator of your portals really isolate themselves to the point where they didn't teach anyone else? Besides that, maybe some other dolls would at least have parts of the knowledge necessary for the restoration?
"What I don‘t like about measure theory is that you have to say 'almost everywhere' almost everywhere." - Attributed to Kurt FriedrichsI could always teach how old style hyper drives were constructed but the methods they use to travel faster then light destabilize near the core of galaxies resulting it being very unlikely to be able to enter the center of the galaxy. I can also offer processing time from a stellar computer if you would prefer to simply work on repairing these gateways.

I look to the stars... but that's mostly because there isn't anything else interestingI think part of the confusion here is that there are something like three different categories of thing that are all called by the name "doll."
- First, we have the little, inanimate toys that Stefan, Icarus, Wulfenbach, and I are all familiar with. Not really relevant here.
- Secondly we have the AI automatons (what my world calls "clanks") that are known as Tactical Dolls or "T-Dolls" for short. They're machines that can be mass-produced. SCW is one of these T-Dolls.
- Lastly, we have this ancient extra-terrestrial magical civilization whose members are called "Dolls," for some reason. They're not artificial beings, neither toys nor machines, but rather
living beings of flesh and blood.(EDIT: My mistake.) Alice and Narnia are these kinds of Dolls.
When we — SCW, Icarus, myself, etc. — talk about the first and second kind of "dolls," you young women seem to think we're talking about the third kind of "Dolls."
In fact, it seems like you've never even heard of the first or second kinds of "dolls." Which I find confusing.

Please visit the "AITA" forum game
Are there T-Dolls that are, how should I put it sensitively, considered disposable, or are you all treated poorly despite any presence of elite units?
Sorry, if it sounds rude to you…
Yo buddies, still tropin’?Uh... We're not exactly organic beings.
Yeah, the Dolls are clockwork automatons too. They even have ball joints on their limbs and visible keyhole slots on the backs of their necks.
Well, if Dolls are clockwork beings, then who or what made them?
“You carry the aura of the stars, interesting...”Big Sis... Who made us?
You will find out in due time, Little Sis. All you need to know right now is that... we have to fulfill "her" promise. The Garden Project must succeed regardless of any setbacks.
Uirst and I could help with that. Just tell us!
"What I don‘t like about measure theory is that you have to say 'almost everywhere' almost everywhere." - Attributed to Kurt FriedrichsMaybe it's one of those things you have to do without help due to some rule. Or maybe just cause it's more fun.
"That was a pointless encounter with a pointless person."
What’s this “Garden Project”???
Yo buddies, still tropin’?While I won't divulge too much details because of a pact I made with "her", I will at least reveal what the Garden Project is. It is a long-term initiative to terraform and seed planets across the Sea of Stars with life, created from our advanced alchemy. It has been ongoing for 10 billion years, and more than 1,000 planets have been seeded. Despite the setback of our civilization's collapse, I must see it through to the end.
Which is why I cannot allow other beings, organic or synthetic, to meddle with the Garden Project. Per "her" pact, this is a Doll-exclusive project. My apologies.
That sounds a lot like abiogenesis, a topic I study a lot in my biology class. It's about how life originated from non-living things.
That sounds really interesting.
"Looks like my type specialization changed. What do you guys think about my fairy wings?" - Iris[1] Oh, come on. You could've said so from the start, and I never would've bothered you.
"What I don‘t like about measure theory is that you have to say 'almost everywhere' almost everywhere." - Attributed to Kurt Friedrichs
Should I ask who’s “her”?
Yo buddies, still tropin’?Ahahaha... Big Sis is rather cryptic at times, but I guess she does it because it's a necessity of her pact.
You are correct, Little Sis. I never try to be as direct with my words unless I really have to, but even then, I will still not divulge the true purpose of the Garden Project... at least not yet.
[1]
You mentioned that your travelling infrastructure was broken, right? Setting up power generators, even ones with a finite lifespan, can still give you enough time to fix your original generators and return to a stable energy balance. Are you sure you don't want the help?
Because for an accurate reading, your interface would have to get data (in-)directly from other universes. Or does it just estimate mana presence?
[2]
Well, probably not. As far as I understand it, dolls from SCW's universe are robots piloted by an AI, which are made to look like humans. I don't think any of the manufacturing steps involve magic.
"What I don‘t like about measure theory is that you have to say 'almost everywhere' almost everywhere." - Attributed to Kurt FriedrichsAlso, can you copy-paste a neural core? Or duplicate it in some form?
