Ahh, console video games (or vidcons as I call them). the ultimate medium of expression, able to convey any emotion ranging from hatred to love, loyalty to fear, all in front of our eyes. Ah, and with lovingly crafted art, music, and the ability to control the action, vidcons are the ultimate combination of the high arts. While I tend to play the stoic, I will be the first to admit that vidcons haven driven me to cry, to scream and shout, to feel actual hate; such is the power of this force beyond our wildest reckoning. And here I am, before you, to temp your tongues with the taint of such a tantalizing topic.
And the Japanese, the true geniuses behind the world of video games. Pah, I throw my scorn upon such incompetents of the West who would mock the true art of the Japanese with 'games' such as Baldur's Gate and Madden. Perhaps it is that the West is not as intelligent as the East, but this is a matter for another day. Japan has given us such masterpieces as the Final Fantasy series, Star Ocean, Wild Arms, and of course, Arc the Lad. Yes, some of the finest vidcons in the world were created by Japanese. I come to you today to ask you in all earnesty, what is your favorite vidcon? I will reveal mine after the grand debate has illustriously begun, but not before the first poster falls victim to my plot of discussion.
In other words, this is a thread on an imaginary forum our avatars frequent. The topic can fluctuate, and its mostly just general discussion.
[1] did some reseach just now. the average wage per worker here is 1mil U, which is already depressing, but you def need to save up if you want to afford an exoskeleton
so, orange guy. can i borrow an exo? also, can i take it apart or is that gonna void a warranty?
We don't have warranties, but we do try to build the exoskeletons to last for as long as possible. I guess you can take them apart - they don't have any critical technology in them - but I'd still advise against it, because you might break some things.
aight cool. same spot as last time?
Alright, incoming

See, here in Teyvat, the currency is standardized by Rex Lapis, aka Morax, aka Zhongli, aka The Greatest Fun Sponge Since Celestia. He’s kinda retired from Archon-ing, though, so no Mora (the universal currency) can be made anymore.
“You carry the aura of the stars, interesting...”
That's utterly fascinating. A true post-scarcity economy, it seems. It sounds like you're living in a world with basically no worries or struggles. I wouldn't even know how to sustain that, but you seem to be doing a decent job.
As for what I'd do in such a situation . . . probably just make whatever I want. But I'd still worry about resources. Or would I? I don't know.
(x2)
What exactly is a "U"? If a million of them isn't much, there's clearly some dissonance between your currency and our currency here.
FYI, I'm familiar with the pound sterling, the Mark, and the trade dollar if you care about converting currency.

Please visit the "AITA" forum gameuniversal money unit. there's actually a few different currencies where i live, which mostly qualify as company scrip. xenocoins, atens, bucks (that's the actual name), and dollars as you mentioned already. funny that they're a thing on your end too
anyways, most of these coins only let you buy stuff from specific companies. xenocoins at xenos, atens at ate ss, bucks at hermer's, dollars at crimaean industries (the public property manufacturer, which basically lives off of subsidies and tax money) etc. at some point, someone realized that this kind of system was stupid and set up their own cryptocurrency/crypto server that lets you exchange company scrip company tokens for universal units, exploiting some token gifting systems in the process and probably hacking company servers. we don't know who that is or where their servers are, hell people have tried tracking them down and went onto a goose chase through deep space, but all the big companies are mad about it and i find the whole operation funny af
anyways sorry for the text wall but figured an explanation would be worth it
Making up stuff on the fly here. I guess this counts as worldbuilding, lmk if you think something's off

So you guys made an alternate currency to get around corporate screwery, and it became your universal standard of money?
That's actually awesome.

"What I don‘t like about measure theory is that you have to say 'almost everywhere' almost everywhere." - Attributed to Kurt Friedrichs[1] Doesn't that mean you're gonna run out of money eventually then? I think one of you Teyvat people mentioned using Mora in alchemy.
"That was a pointless encounter with a pointless person."
That’s so much more cool than ours! Like I said before, Teyvat’s currency was made by a god. An absolute fun sponge of a Geo Archon, to be more specific.
“You carry the aura of the stars, interesting...”[1] That sounds extremely janky. I imagine the companies must be updating their transactions regularly, how does the anonymous server maintainer keep up with that?
honestly? good question
if you guys don't mint new coins, ig there's a deflation happening? unless the coins are super-durable or something
"What I don‘t like about measure theory is that you have to say 'almost everywhere' almost everywhere." - Attributed to Kurt Friedrichs
For a good while (millenia), Rex Lapis was indeed doing his best to keep the value of Mora stable. Of course, he did recently fake his own death and give the Fatui his Gnosis, so that period of deflation might be coming very soon. That, or the Fatui uses his Gnosis and creates a problem of hyper-inflation.
“You carry the aura of the stars, interesting...”
Honestly, having a standard currency that's literally divinely-ordained feels like putting all your eggs in one basket. Unless you have other, local currencies.
. . . Then again, we have the opposite problem in Europa, which is to say too many currencies. The old Baron tried to standardize things with the dollar, but most fiefdoms just use whatever they were using before. I think I still have some Sturmhalten Marks in one of my coats' pockets somewhere.

Nah, it’s basically all Mora, all of the time. But despite being a fun sponge, I gotta admit that Rex Lapis is at least somewhat responsible… somewhat. Ironically enough, now that he no longer has his Gnosis, he’s always borrowing money from everyone that’ll help. Mainly the Traveler and Hu Tao. Hu Tao being the director of the funeral parlour he now works at. It’s got a… unique way of running things.

Yeah, it's certainly had it's ups, downs and all around choices of temperature lately. Just a couple more weeks till spring arrives.
Meet the Tamas!◊ I've come to retrieve my power.
Hey guys, just got back from the gym. I ran over 9 miles in an hour. So Momo and I and some other friends are gonna watch Fright Night (1985), directed by Tom Holland. The filmmaker, not the actor.
It must be weird knowing that you share the same name with a different person. But anyway, the movie should be fun.
What is everyone else doing this evening?
I'm probably gonna sketch drawings of the fungi species I observed today. I'm also gonna scan them with my laptop and go through some further analysis of them.
Probably gonna go rock climbing with Piers at this cliff somewhere in a national park. It should be fun, and we can take photos of the night sky when it's dark.
"I usually specialize in Dragon-types, but now I'm a fairy and specialize in Fairy-types. See the irony?" - IrisI think I'll go scare random humans.
"That was a pointless encounter with a pointless person."That Fright Night (1985) looks pretty rad! A horror film is always a good time especially on Friday night with the dark skies coming around!
I'd enjoy taking night pics tonight of it wasn't raining here, also the wind is being annoying.
Enjoy the early night skies while you can since today and tomorrow are the last days before we have to set the clock forward.

Meet the Tamas!◊ I've come to retrieve my power. Right, that reminds me. Once you get back - how do you store blood at the SDM without it hardening? Do you ask Sakuya to slow down time for the container?
Also, how sensitive are you to garlic? Asking for the party.

"What I don‘t like about measure theory is that you have to say 'almost everywhere' almost everywhere." - Attributed to Kurt FriedrichsI dunno. Probably the same way we store other food so it doesn't go bad. Also I like garlic, though big sis doesn't.
"That was a pointless encounter with a pointless person."Aight, good to know! I have no more questions for now, so enjoy scaring the locals.

Speaking of the party, Sucrose has agreed to help out with the Sweet Flowers if necessary. All she needs is an intact DNA sample of any kind to modify it. She can have it done in a few hours.

Well, this is an interesting forum here…
Why don’t we introduce ourselves?
My name’s Emma! What are your names?
Yo buddies, still tropin’?I'm Flandre Scarlet! A vampire who scares even silent children into crying!
"That was a pointless encounter with a pointless person."
Hi, Emma! My name is Gilgamesh Wulfenbach, but you can call me "Gil." I'm dictator over what's left of my father's empire. My friend here, Tarvek Sturmvoraus, is an underhanded sneak.
Wow, Wulfenbach, you suck at introducing yourself.
Anyhow, Frau Emma, I am Tarvek Sturmvoraus, the exiled Prince of Sturmhalten. My job description isn't "underhanded sneak."
I guess I always have had a natural affinity for climbing tall objects such as trees, often to see what was up there. It also provided a way for me to have some quiet time and meditate without disturbances.
Just because you're great at it doesn't mean that you won't make mistakes sometimes, and that's why you still need to be careful when climbing them. Have you considered using a harness or something similar to catch you in case you fall?
Yeah, I use that nowadays, but so far I don't think I have slipped while climbing.
