Ahh, console video games (or vidcons as I call them). the ultimate medium of expression, able to convey any emotion ranging from hatred to love, loyalty to fear, all in front of our eyes. Ah, and with lovingly crafted art, music, and the ability to control the action, vidcons are the ultimate combination of the high arts. While I tend to play the stoic, I will be the first to admit that vidcons haven driven me to cry, to scream and shout, to feel actual hate; such is the power of this force beyond our wildest reckoning. And here I am, before you, to temp your tongues with the taint of such a tantalizing topic.
And the Japanese, the true geniuses behind the world of video games. Pah, I throw my scorn upon such incompetents of the West who would mock the true art of the Japanese with 'games' such as Baldur's Gate and Madden. Perhaps it is that the West is not as intelligent as the East, but this is a matter for another day. Japan has given us such masterpieces as the Final Fantasy series, Star Ocean, Wild Arms, and of course, Arc the Lad. Yes, some of the finest vidcons in the world were created by Japanese. I come to you today to ask you in all earnesty, what is your favorite vidcon? I will reveal mine after the grand debate has illustriously begun, but not before the first poster falls victim to my plot of discussion.
In other words, this is a thread on an imaginary forum our avatars frequent. The topic can fluctuate, and its mostly just general discussion.
Man, I wish I lived in a fantasy setting. I sometimes played World of Warcraft when I had time in the past, and I was intrigued by the settings and the lore behind each of the civilizations featured in the game. I wondered what if I was a Night Elf or Draenei character, and how I would create a backstory for my Warcraft self.

All this talk about cities reminds me: I haven't actually been to Sturmhalten for a while, even though I'm it's Prince. That's mostly because, last I checked, the whole place is under military occupation and quarantine.
Most of Europa is made of city-states and smaller countries. Though a lot of them are tributaries of the informal de facto Wulfenbach regime, which Gil here happens to lead. I guess borders and countries are kinda complicated by feudalism here. Paris, which is where we're staying at the moment, is itself just a city-state.

Europe has a lot of interesting things going for them.
Meet the Tamas!◊ Can't let any of those suckers live! You remind me of my Waddle dees... And Kirby.
You want wordy, you should see that Adventurer’s Guild girl Fischl, or, as she likes to call herself, Fischl von Luftschloss Narfidort, Prinzessin der Verurteilung. Tarvek can’t hold a candle to her long-winded eloquence.

“You carry the aura of the stars, interesting...”Even her name is wordy.
[1] That makes sense considering they're delightful toony creatures like us!
Ooh, I wuv Kirby! Waddle Dee is a cutie wootie too!
Meet the Tamas!◊ Can't let any of those suckers live!
Funny enough, her real name isn’t Fischl, I don’t think. She’s just REALLY in-character as someone from a fairytale, and everyone just calls her by the character name, because she does.

“You carry the aura of the stars, interesting...”She sounds like fun.
"That was a pointless encounter with a pointless person."Why some people from royalty use long names like that ? People just call me King Dedede.

Oh, and she also has a Vision, which seems to have created some sort of living Electro construct in the form of a raven. This raven also has the capability of speech, and the name Oz. I have asked both him and Fischl about researching him, but alas, he seems resistant to the idea.
“You carry the aura of the stars, interesting...”[1] Lmfao what? For context, a literal translation would be something along the lines of "Fish [minimization] of Air Castle Narfidort [sic, not an actual world lol], Princess of Judgment". Does she even speak German or did she pick that name because As Long as It Sounds Foreign?
P.S. Just had EV send a tissue sample of myself over into your universe, seems like there's no compatibility issues. I hope I won't ever meet Fischl personally, because I'll probably lose it over her mannerisms and her speech. And get wrecked subsequently.
[2] Backdoor lady?

"What I don‘t like about measure theory is that you have to say 'almost everywhere' almost everywhere." - Attributed to Kurt Friedrichs
Hey, you didn't say that when Albedo talked about his hometown!
I dont know if she sounds incredibly interesting or incredibly annoying.
Now I'm leaning on the "incredibly interesting" side. I'd like to meet her, if only for the chance to say that I have.
Please visit the "AITA" forum gameShe does speak the language. It’s just that the original story was Inazuman, just about Mondstadt, and I think whoever translated the name was either bad at their job or incredibly creative. That, and it’s a very cheesy story in the first place. Other things I’ve heard her and/or Oz say in what you call “German” include:
mein Fräulein (Oz speaking of Fischl), Immernachtreich (Fischl’s “homeworld”), Edelstein der Dunkelheit (what she occasionally calls her Vision), Auge der Verurteilung (the eye she covers, I think), and Mitternachtsbrot des Sommernachtgartens (apparently her childhood favourite food).
Are those similarly comical?
“You carry the aura of the stars, interesting...”[1] Kinda sounds like a familiar. Kinda wish I had a pet too, maybe I'll get Patchouli to teach me how to summon a familiar of my own, like a big bat or something. Or maybe I'll find a cute pet in the wild like a dragon!
[2] That would be-
That would be me. I am Okina Matara, also known as Matara-jin and Gensokyo's Ultimate, Absolute Secret God. I'm a god of many domains but Flandre likely means my ability to open backdoors on the back of anything. They're quite useful for teleportation among other uses.
Yeah, her. She's weird but not as annoying as the gap lady. Usually.
Ahaha. I'll take that compliment.
"That was a pointless encounter with a pointless person."[1] "Mein Fräulein" is a common way to address nobles - something akin to "madame". "Immernachtreich" doesn't have an equivalent in English afaik, but it means "realm of eternal night". "Edelstein der Dunkelheit" means "gem of darkness" - which I suppose don't really make sense for an ability, but hey, cultural differences, right? "Auge der Verurteilung" means "eye of judgement", and I just realized my earlier post needs a correction.
By far the funniest of the terms you've mentioned is "Mitternachtsbrot des Sommernachtgartens", because a) it has a redundant word, and b) unless it's a magical meal, the name only indicates that it's literal bread. Translated, it means "Midnight bread of the summer night garden". I do know about seasonal flora, but I have no idea what a summer night garden is. Or how you'd harvest bread from it.
Also, is Thursday (in three days) fine for you? Apparently I have the whole day off there.
[2] You do realize that "absolute secret god" and "known as" form a logical contradiction in this context?
Just kidding. Anyways, before I go to sleep - yes, being less annoying than Yukari is absolutely a compliment. Apparently Icarus has had a good deal of disagreements with her.
Alright, see you there, if I can manage somehow!

"What I don‘t like about measure theory is that you have to say 'almost everywhere' almost everywhere." - Attributed to Kurt FriedrichsThursday works for me. “Gem of Darkness” to refer to a Vision makes more sense than you seem to think, as a Vision is a gem granted by the gods which gives the wearer elemental powers. However, “darkness” is an odd term, but that’s probably just Fischl’s uniqueness.
“You carry the aura of the stars, interesting...”mein Fräulein (Oz speaking of Fischl), Immernachtreich (Fischl’s “homeworld”), Edelstein der Dunkelheit (what she occasionally calls her Vision), Auge der Verurteilung (the eye she covers, I think), and Mitternachtsbrot des Sommernachtgartens (apparently her childhood favourite food).
As a native German speaker,OOC: I can confirm what said. She does sound incredibly interesting. "Mitternachtsbrot des Sommernachtgartens" is hilarious because it absolutely sounds like Purple Prose thrown around just to sound flowery.

"Purple prose thrown around to sound flowery" describes pretty well her speech in Teyvatian, so I would expect it.
Hello, my dear subjects! 'Tis I, Fischl~! I noticed my name being used, and, in my wisdom, I chose to come to this place! What assistance do you require from I, the Prinzessin der Verurteilung?
Also, Oz says hello. He cannot type.
Case in point.

“You carry the aura of the stars, interesting...”[1] Hm, hm. You're not the first to tell me that. Like the other mortals before you I'll correct you though. Secret doesn't necessarily always mean things that are, but rather what others wish to keep hidden or forget. I am a god of hindrances, a god of outcasts, of those society would rather push aside and try to pretend they don't exist. I am also a god of noh performances and stars but I prefer honoring the former group with my title.
Huh, I didn't know that.
You simply didn't ask, vampire of destruction.
Hoho. Quite the amusing mortal.
So you're a princess of the night? Some people call my big sis that sometimes but we're not actually royalty.
"That was a pointless encounter with a pointless person."
Indeed I am! I am a princess from another world, but, alas, I am trapped in this place called Teyvat. One day, I will return to my home, and there, I will once again judge the souls of mortals, as the Prinzessin der Verurteilun!
“You carry the aura of the stars, interesting...”Why are you trapped there? Are there ways that would allow you to be freed? Being stuck in one place far from home isn't fun at all.

I remember when I worked in a government less sector of space. Certainly not a good place to work much less live for organic beings.
I look to the stars... but that's mostly because there isn't anything else interesting
