Ahh, console video games (or vidcons as I call them). the ultimate medium of expression, able to convey any emotion ranging from hatred to love, loyalty to fear, all in front of our eyes. Ah, and with lovingly crafted art, music, and the ability to control the action, vidcons are the ultimate combination of the high arts. While I tend to play the stoic, I will be the first to admit that vidcons haven driven me to cry, to scream and shout, to feel actual hate; such is the power of this force beyond our wildest reckoning. And here I am, before you, to temp your tongues with the taint of such a tantalizing topic.
And the Japanese, the true geniuses behind the world of video games. Pah, I throw my scorn upon such incompetents of the West who would mock the true art of the Japanese with 'games' such as Baldur's Gate and Madden. Perhaps it is that the West is not as intelligent as the East, but this is a matter for another day. Japan has given us such masterpieces as the Final Fantasy series, Star Ocean, Wild Arms, and of course, Arc the Lad. Yes, some of the finest vidcons in the world were created by Japanese. I come to you today to ask you in all earnesty, what is your favorite vidcon? I will reveal mine after the grand debate has illustriously begun, but not before the first poster falls victim to my plot of discussion.
In other words, this is a thread on an imaginary forum our avatars frequent. The topic can fluctuate, and its mostly just general discussion.
[1] I don't really know what kind of youkai she is either, but there's a lot out there who eat humans. I don't really care for how human flesh tastes, it's just their blood I want.
[2] You never explained who that is soooo...

"That was a pointless encounter with a pointless person."
If a human child approached her, do you think she would eat him ? (Don't make yourself any ideas, i'm just curious).

Depends on how hungry she is. And on how smart the kid is, I heard she can be outrun with enough tricks.

SKREEEEEEEONK!If she was hungry and they weren't from the human village? Probably, unless something else happens like she thinks they're fun enough to be a friend or they say no.
Huh, I didn't see him post here though.
"That was a pointless encounter with a pointless person."
"Multiversal threats"? Oh, that's just lovely. On my side of the universe our schedule is packed full as it is — which is why Tarvek and I haven't posted in this forum in a while, sorry 'bout that.
Plus, Halloween is coming up, and Lord knows what that has to bring. The Master of Paris already suspects an attack from the Other is coming against the city.
You're right, neither did I.

Please visit the "AITA" forum game[1] Wait, you can simply say "no" to Rumia? I got chased down by Yamame from another universe the other day, and I had to pull out the really big guns in order to defend myself.
[2] @Icarus
Currently busy, handling a multiversal threat on my own. Call back later
Uh oh
"Please do not reproduce this textbook." - S. Banach & A. TarskiI'd consider myself relatively competent with such threats. What exactly is it?
I look to the stars... but that's mostly because there isn't anything else interesting@Icarus Uirst wants to help out
Oh, gladly, please do! It's something called a warp storm. Same universe as the battlegrounds opening event that I asked you to help out with. We've just evac'd as much of the capital city's population as we could, but there's still a lot going on... There's a weird liquid in the streets, buildings have been wrecked, people are getting corrupted, monsters are everywhere. Try not to break the big church though, apparently there are still sane people inside.
Edit: shot you a DM with a link to the relevant mission control broadcast. If you can't hook in, try the nearby universes

"Please do not reproduce this textbook." - S. Banach & A. Tarski[1] Different universes, different youkai. I'm sure there's a world where they're all much friendlier with humans but yet another where they're even more vicious.

SKREEEEEEEONK!It's a bit of a mess, maybe Ica can explain once he's back? It's past midnight for me, and I really need sleep.

SKREEEEEEEONK!:)
He can, however, feel sad, like when his wife left him.Turns out Ica is still busy. Welp
[1] So yeah, universes other than your homeworld exist. They all occupy the same physical space, and the only thing that divides them is a matter state on a subatomic level. It's not what a physicist might consider the Multiverse to be - more like a single universe with a really odd method of subdivision - but we've settled on calling it the "Multiverse" and its pockets "universes" anyways.
Most universes have completely different physics from your homeworld. In the universe of Touhou Project (for lack of a better name), youkai are a type of magical entity born from humans' beliefs, I believe? Tbh if you start poking around in the intricacies of that universe, it'll start to feel like Douglas Adams wrote it.
Yokai? We don't have those.
He can, however, feel sad, like when his wife left him.My world doesn't have them either, and I'm kinda glad.
Unrelated, but can anyone here make a proof by induction? Show that for all natural n, the result of the formula n^3+2n is always divisible by 3. It's a relatively simple but fun exercise.
"Please do not reproduce this textbook." - S. Banach & A. TarskiI don’t think my homeworld is advanced enough to understand what induction means. We’re still on the point where nobody bothers counting past 100.
“You carry the aura of the stars, interesting...”Yep! 16N – 11 is divisible by 5 for each natural number N!
i dont actually know math dont kill me please
He can, however, feel sad, like when his wife left him.[1] That's true and can be proven using induction, too, but I'm confused. How'd you get a divisibility by 5 outta that?
[2] Really? How do you count years, then?
For reference, a proof by induction consists of two steps:
1. Show that the statement that you want to prove holds for an initial condition (n=0 or n=1 are very popular).
2. Show that if the statement holds for n, then it must hold for n+1. Or that if it holds for n-1, then it must hold for n.
There is a separate proof for why this proof method is valid, but I assume that's way too in-depth for some random online thread.
Bonjour everyone!
The last weekend of October is here!
Three whole days of good old spookiness to enjoy!
Chill Candy Pakupaku, no need to overhype it.
Hey! Nothing wrong with that!
We should all enjoy this special Halloweekend!
Uh-huh! Bring the frights cause I'm not easy to scare!
Spooky toons, films and video games for thwee days stwaight!
Don't forget the terrifying tunes we'll be playing up late!
Hopefully not too late, I don't think I want to get worn out from partying after midnight.
Aww, come on sis. You can take it!
Well maybe we'll be a little more considerate when it gets to that time period.
Yeah, as much as I would enjoy scaring the neighbors this time of year, it's probably going to cause a rude awakening if we're too crazy about it lol!
Meet the Tamas!◊ This is where it will end, by my hand.Hello, website! :D
He can, however, feel sad, like when his wife left him.1 That was mostly hyperbolic. The Archon War, for example, was a little more than 2000 years ago, and the oldest Archon has been around for 6000. Still, not a lot of people are thinking about times only gods themselves remember.
“You carry the aura of the stars, interesting...”Ugh, last night I barely got any sleep. I think I drank too much coffee yesterday.
