All Devouring Jungle might work better. Or possibly as a redirect.
Fight smart, not fair. That still makes it look like it's about eating those who go in, not something sinister about the jungle.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Dragon Quest Z, so are you saying that the current name makes it sound like the jungle eats you when the trope is really about the jungle being a rough place that makes people go mad? If so, I agree with you. I am not quite sure what good rename would entail. Perhaps something like Maddening Jungle would work, but I know there must be a better way to represent the trope than that name. I think that something that relates to how jungles can sometimes grow so high that one cannot see the sun might be a good thing to include in the trope name too.
Sorry that I cannot come up with a very good name for the trope right now.

"irhgT nm0w tehre might b ea lotof th1nmgs i dont udarstannd, ubt oim ujst goinjg to keepfollowing this pazth i belieove iN !!!!!1 dThe Darkest Jungle could work, based on the phrase "Darkest Africa".
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid. This one seems to be related to Environmental Symbolism and Eldritch Location. It's also related to Genius Loci — with a collective ill-will but no unifying entity. Also seems like a localised Death World.
I find Hungry Jungle to be evocative of the trope, probably because when the jungle is trying to eat characters, it is almost always part and parcel of the wider Cosmic Horror Story setting.
The Darkest Jungle might work, we've got Dark World and this trope is related to that one too, plus Heart Of Darkness as a classic example work containing a Hungry Jungle. I think finding a clear title that is as resonant as Hungry Jungle will be tricky if we decide to rename it, because this trope is sometimes metaphorical, sometimes literal, and sometimes both. Just there would be a trope where the jungle is full of deadly things, which isn't quite this trope. I was thinking of moving the current name to that.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.hunger is more than just a physical concept. I think the wider context is sufficient for this trope, the Hungry Jungle might not eat you physically but it will swallow your soul if it can and physically break you. The title is exactly what this trope is about, in the most spine chilling sense.
Personally, I was assuming the "devouring jungle" bit of it where the molds and the insects, not to mention the bacteria, slowly take everyone out when I put my example in. But I can see where there's been some decay of that concept.
And... I wound up adding an example that wasn't even a jungle, but had the same concept of being a largely unexplored area that consumed most of those who came in no matter how well prepared they thought they were. I think that's really the key to it, the idea of an environment that's almost Lovecraftian in how it will crush men and their technology without any real malice.

Wall of text incoming:
The only way out is to die or go mad. Here, you can't imagine there's a world beyond the jungle.
Is this a trope description, or a horror story? Also, do the Tarzan movies not fit here for some reason?

Ponders too much; thinks too little. Currently goes by Knowlessman.
The name Hungry Jungle implies a killer jungle, especially one full of man-eating creatures. But the actual trope is treating the jungle almost like a setting in a Cosmic Horror Story. Plus it has few wicks, and almost none on the works listed on the page.
