3.22*101194 times the age of the universe. I think that Cryptonomicon actually underplayed that.

I think that that's enough of that.

I only got 101018, (how are you doing that superscript?) but that's possibly because I was assuming that you were using every Plack volume of the universe as a 1024GHz processor.

But yeah, that's enough of showing that Wikileaks is several astronomically large steps ahead of the NSA. I wonder what's actually in the thing, but whatever it is, it's almost certain to cause the international-politics equivalent of a Flame War.

It is safe to say they can never crack it.

Of course, they could, if they were just that god damn lucky, but no one is.

This could indeed be a political thermonuclear bomb if they encrypted it that securely.

Or, ya know, they could be bluffing.

Yes, they really are. Not only that, but the process of just getting to arresting someone internationally usually takes months.

This reeks of political meddling.

I wonder if he's actually going to sit on the documents until the charges against him fail. It wouldn't hurt his publicity, but I really want him to nail BP and Bank of America.

Share it so that people can get into this conversation, 'cause we're not the only ones who think like this.

Any charge with any bit of validity will be sufficient ammunition for a state "enemy".

Assuming the charges are bogus for sake of argument, wouldn't the best course of action for him be to not resist the process, so it could be proved invalid in a court of law? Or is it not as simple as all that?

Furthermore, I think Guantanamo must be destroyed.

A better comparison with Capone might be that he was pretty well-liked until people found out about Saint Valentine's Day. There seems to be a similar turnaround anger caused by these American leagues, but I'm not sure.

It is decidedly suspicious that, right after the big leak, he suddenly gets arrested for something else.

Nothing too suspicious about the extradition arrest's speed; such things are fast-track within Europe.

The names of the accusers are Anna Bernardin and Sophia Wilen. Bernardin is a feminist who wanted revenge for being nothing more than a one-night stand.

Here's her twitter account and blog where she posted this before deleting it.

Also, Assange turned himself in. That's something that should be brought to people's attention. This wasn't some huge bust to get him, this was him trying to head off any accusations.

Considering the likelihood of Wikileaks having Super Duper Important Files, and the backlash that a hoax would cause, that seems unlikely to me.

It could actually be the Death Note quote from before, ending in a gloat that the real file was on that Teletubbies dvd he brought to England with him.
