YMMV / Zodiac Story Of The Guardian

Go To

  • Game-Breaker:
    • Leo Laser. A screen long laser beam that pass through walls, stays long for extra damage, and has a great damage output. When charged, it turns the Guardian into a speeding, invulnerable comet of plasma, that can go vertical or horizontal! It can be used to bypass several platforming segments.
  • Game-Breaking Bug:
    • Some rooms, like the teleporters hub, don't have walls or floors. Should you fall directly into a empty corner, the game will crash.
    • There is bug in version (2-3-16), where defeating Aquarius Prototype will remove the Wall Cling upgrade from Taurus (and place them in the sick bay). Unless you're going for the best ending, hold on defeating Aquarius Prototype until you get the Wall Cling from Taurus.
    • Related to the above. Getting the bad endings in version (2-3-16) is impossible, since defeating Aquarius Prototype (it's mandatory) "locks" the game on the path to the good/best ending. Even after you saw General Schlefen die, he'll appear alive and well for the good ending.
  • That One Boss:
    • The Cactawhirl 2 fight in Virgo. Cactawhirl was already a tough fight in Scorpio due to its small window of vulnerability coupled with its speed, but had a wide enough room to dodge its attacks. Cactawhirl 2 is fought in a really tight room with a floor of spikes, three pillars to stand on, and has more defense than its predecessor. Have fun watching it fly around and reveal its weak-point in impossible to reach places, while all its attacks will reach you from anywhere to knock you on the spikes for a long grueling battle. All for a useless upgrade in the form of Stomp Boots.
    • Capricorn 0F Corridor Boss: It's incredibly durable, showers you more and more with continuous barrage of bullets for every eye you destroy, becomes more erratic as its health dwindle. But then he Turns Red when he's close to dying, suddenly quickly regains health til it recovers its last quarter, gains more speed... and will HEAL ITSELF AGAIN whenever it reaches the last quarter!! The fight now becomes about outliving it, out-damage its healing rate, and using the Ship Bomb barely does anything to it.
That One Level:
  • Capricorn 0F Corridor: Filled left and right with maws the comes from behind, sometimes invulnerable foes, swarms of blue-jellyfish aliens that retaliates by showering you with bullets every time they're attacked, several Incredibly Durable Enemies, etc. And then comes the boss.
