- Adaptation Displacement: Strangely enough, the movie is rarely mentioned nowadays but the Atari Jaguar game is infamous for its awful quality, and has several times made it to "worst game ever" lists.
- Awesome Music: Enough to get two official soundtracks: One being a mix of rap and R&B and the other being pure rap.
- R&B group Riff provide the movie's funky theme song, a certified New Jack Swing banger guaranteed to get you pumped for the climatic game.
- "Sympin'", released by Boyz II Men a year after its appearance on their debut album gets the remix treatment for the film, complete with a new rap verse from Michael Bivins.
- Ho Yay: Billy and Sidney, at least according to Gloria. Not that she minds too much.
- The Problem with Licensed Games: The Atari Jaguar game. Considering the console it is on, it hardly ever had a chance.
