  • Anti-Climax Boss: SED cyborgs from the Pripyat mission on Easy difficulty. Most encounters with them end up with them exiting out of their pods... only to get immediately stabbed to death by three players who piled up at the door. This is averted on higher difficulties, where the SED can kill multiple players in a single swing of its sword.
  • Demonic Spiders: Some more specialized enemy units, like Spec-Ops who blind you with their targeting lasers, or Demomen with their rocket launchers. Any enemy can become this if they get behind a mounted machine gun, especially if it's armored. Turrets also count, with the heavily armored Cobra, or the nearly instant-killing Muraena. And all of these are cranked up to eleven on harder difficulties.
  • Game-Breaker: Many weapons fall into this category. The Karkom SMG, for example. Inexplicably more powerful than the assault rifle variant? Check. Faster firing? Check. None of the drawbacks? Check. And there's the Boas; a semiautomatic one-hit-kill shotgun with far greater range than any other shotgun in the game.
  • Goddamned Bats: Melee oriented opponents like Security Guards or Riot Soldiers are highly annoying because they can knock down players, their attacks ignore armor, and they come in large numbers while supplemented with fire support from ranged opponents.
  • Scrappy Mechanic: Both the rental weapons and the repair costs for the permanent weapons, which is seemingly there just to remind the players that this is an Allegedly Free Game which encourages Bribing Your Way to Victory.
  • Visual Effects of Awesome: The game's graphics are quite impressive, especially for a free-to-play title. This is especially notable in the Special Operations, where players are treated to Scenery Porn and Scenery Gorn alike.
