  • Critical Dissonance / Critic-Proof: Vice's movies may have been critically panned, but it didn't seem to matter to him as long as it sold millions at the box office.
    • On the aspect of obscenity, one would wonder how a controversial insult comic in a conservative country with a Roman Catholic majority would have a highly successful film and television career with numerous financially-successful projects to his belt.
  • It's the Same, Now It Sucks!: Vice's gags have been the butt of criticism especially in recent years for being "more of the same." Not that his audiences would care about said critical reviews though. Ironically enough, he himself would criticise a dance group at one time for their overuse of the very same gags Vice originated note .
  • Money, Dear Boy: But it was a box-office hit, right?
  • Overshadowed by Controversy: It's hard not to think about Vice without the leagues of critics who are critical of his style of comedy, deriding it as a denigrating form of defamation at the expense of those targeted by Vice's sarcasm. In fairness there has been those far worse than him, but still...
