  • Accidental Innuendo: It's commonly joked that Bethy put a bit too much enthusiasm into the Agent's death screams. This was addressed in the summer 2023 update, which redoes her death screams to be less suggestive out of context.
  • Awesome Music: "Last Stand," the Theme Music Power-Up for CTF and Payload matches that have gone into overtime. Comes in two adrenaline-pumping flavors, RED and GRN.
  • Complacent Gaming Syndrome: Payload maps, because of their longevity and plenty of opportunities for all nine classes to shine equally. Bringing a matchup determined enough to set the round into overtime also lets you listen to the kickass theme "Last Stand".
  • Friendly Fandoms: With the original Team Fortress 2. Though Roblox ports are typically looked down upon, TC2 tends to come as an exception since it's basically a version of vanilla that actually gets some much-needed content updates, at the cost of some quirks in the physics engine and a reduced map selection.
  • Game-Breaker:
    • The Super Sneaker grants Flankers greater air control and jump height. Considering that Flanker's main benefit is their double jump with easily allows greater mobility, this is an absolute no-brainer for those willing to sacrifice their secondary for greater jump height, especially if paired with the Atomizer. The summer 2023 update would later bring it in line by implementing a number of missing air physics from Source (particularly air strafing), requiring a player to put more conscious effort into capitalizing on the Super Sneaker's buffs.
    • The Model IV has increased damage against the Mechanic's buildings and a perpetual penetration against players in exchange for an reduced charge rate and no increased damage when fully charged compared to the Machina. The decreased charge rate is rarely noticeable since the Marksman is headshotting players unless they're dealing with an Brute, and that is minor compared to the rest.
  • Good Bad Bugs: If infinite ammo is enabled through community server settings or admin override in public servers, loading the Wrecker's Yard (Beggar's Bazooka), Shotgun Cannon, or Crankenstein (old Panic Attack) will cause them to fire non-stop without holding the button. Their extremely high burst DPS makes them a Game-Breaker in this setting even in comparison to other weapons unbalanced by infinite ammo, and not even adding guaranteed crits to the equation lets the rest of the game's arsenal catch up.
  • Scrappy Mechanic:
    • Because of the way ROLVe simulates Source physics, blast jumping and trimping (using sharp inclines as a Demoknight to fly with a charge) are more difficult to control, with the former prone to getting the user trapped on walls instead of sliding down them and the latter able to trigger accidentally on railings and random objects that aren't actually inclines. Both can easily send users to their death in ways the original TF2 doesn't permit, much to a seasoned Trooper or Annihilator's chagrin.
    • Autobalance targets lower-scoring players on the team that needs to lose players, making it ineffective in truly balancing teams in terms of preventing stomps. It also does not warn players, unlike Casual mode in TF2.
    • Roblox's netcode interacts with ROLVe's engine by prioritizing what a client sees when they take an action. While the most obvious exploit of just playing with slow internet to stop time is patched out by a ping limit, this can still make for some very bitter moments, such as getting facestabbed by an Agent who saw your back on their end even though you never turned around on your end.
    • As with all other Roblox shooters that use regular avatars and not Rthro or an equivalent, TC2 suffers from its hitboxes not being 1:1 to that of a regular humanoid used in most shooters, causing some TF2 fans to advise against using it as an introduction to the original game's mechanics and any strategy that requires precise aiming.
    • Votekicking is far worse compared to its original counterpart. To even votekick an player in the first place, in addition to being on the same team with the player you want to votekick, you have to be Level 50 to even votekick in the first place. It originally had a lighter restriction of Level 20, but it was later raised due to abuse of the system. This is especially annoying if a hacker joined the game and their team refuses to votekick them.
  • Scrappy Weapon: Consider that this is basically Roblox's version of TF2, there's bound to be weapons many refuse to use. This trope only lists those with significant changes; otherwise, refer to the TF2 page regarding terrible weapons.
    • The Ambassador now only has the first bullet on its magazine deal crits. Considering that its original counterpart always dealt crits regardless if it was the first bullet or not, unsurprisingly, no experienced spy has ever used this.
    • The Baby Face's Blaster, in addition to a harsher initial speed penalty, has reduced damage. This means that getting kills with it, even with the increased accuracy is far risker, and Flanker's niche is to perform close-range hit and runs, thus making it far more useless compared to its original counterpart.
    • The Cold Shoulder launches a ball that covers the enemy's screen with snow if they are hit by it and extinguishes players on fire. Problem is, the debuff lasts three seconds, and you're typically better off using the Mad Milk, which in addition to its extinguishing properties, also has much more utility thanks to its "heal-on-damage" debuff against enemies unless the player is running Super Sneakers, and even that is situational thanks to its slower deployment rate.
    • The Maverick is very unusual. Compared to the other rocket launchers in the Trooper's arsenal, it arcs. This doesn't make it better, however, because it has a small clip size, and the damage buff and increased projectile isn't worth it, since other rocket launches have the same benefits but none of the Maverick's crippling drawbacks.
    • The Axtinguisher mini-crits and extinguishes enemies hit while they are fire, but if the Arsonist misses it, the enemies suffering from an Arsonist's afterburn get extinguished as well. Considering how incredibly poor Arsonist's melee game is, especially since they can simply use their flamethrowers for close combat, this makes it a high-risk, low-reward choice compared to others. Not being helped that it also has knockback vulnerability as well, meaning that if an Arsonist is hit by an knockback-inducing weapon, they're going to fly much harder and suffer potentially higher fall damage.
  • That One Level:
    • Rig has all of the platforming required of its Source counterpart, making getting to and from the intelligence feel like a slog with all the jumping. Making matters worse is how the Roblox engine and ROLVe's custom physics can cause you to go flying in the wrong direction if you hit an edge funny.
    • Calamity, prior to its removal, has repeatedly been criticized for its odd proportions causing it to be too large for a Robloxian to roam around with, along with ridiculous sightlines and flanks that completely invalidate close-range classes and loadouts.
