• Alas, Poor Scrappy: Sunny Milk's general wimpiness can be irritating at times, especially with her Invisibility skills gives her major advantage in this situation. Despite that, her death is still a sad experience, more so after we learnt the death of Luna Child and Star Sapphire at the hands of Variant Reisen in The Mischievous Fairies arc, and Sunny Milk blaming herself for her friends' demise.
• Angst Aversion: This fan-video series is avoided by many for the same reason they avoid Koishi Komeiji's Heart-Throbbing Adventure.
• Ensemble Dark Horse:
  • Variant Marisa. She is one of few variants with less disturbing art design, she can talk and behave like how the real Marisa does albeit far more aggressively, and she is somewhat cool.
  • Variant Yuuka. Just like Variant Marisa, her art design much less disturbing compared to other variants. She is drawn with beautiful face and recognizable body curve not unlike her original counterpart. She loves torturing her victims. Unlike the real Yuuka, the variant version attack people without some sort of provocation.
• Friendly Fandoms: Those who like this fanfic will possibly like Koishi Komeiji's Heart-Throbbing Adventure as well and vise versa.
• Nightmare Fuel: This fanfiction has a lot of them.
  • When variant creatures attack their victims, usually they attack indiscriminately. But some variants who target specific characters such as Marisa or Cirno or Alice, they do it in the most disturbing way: ambushing them in their home, hurting their loved ones, making them desperate with psychological attacks, etc.
  • Alice's turmoil about her past time in Makai. It can be a flashback, or a nightmare, or merely a hallucination.
  • Flandre falls victim to a dark spell and is trapped in a loop of nightmares. Fortunately, she gets over it by killing the caster of the spell, Variant Kana Anaberal
  • The rampage of Variant Yuuka against Rumia and her friends. It is so horrifying that calling her "ultra-sadistic creature" is a major understatement.
  • Everytime Variant Sanae appears is guaranteed to be this, both to the audiences and In-Universe. Her mental attacks are powerful enough to kill three of Scarlet Devil Mansion folks. It is so bad that even Variant Marisa notes it as scary.
  • Variant Mokou and Variant Kaguya, Along with Variant Reimu are amongst the most frightening adversaries in the story, as not only they have similar power to their Gensokyo counterparts amped up to eleven, their Grotesque appearance also match their power.

• Unexpected Character: PC-98 characters, oh how the fans miss you all. The appearance of Kana Anaberal and Kotohime in the first episode surprises, yet is welcomed by many audiences. Later on, Shinki and "Little Alice" also make appearance in this fanfiction, though not in a pleasant way.
