YMMV / Tiny Toon Adventures: Buster's Hidden Treasure

Go To

  • No Problem with Licensed Games: As with many of Konami's Tiny Toon Adventures video games, it's considered a very fun and challenging video game that's also faithful to the source material, visual and audio-wise.
  • Spiritual Successor: To the first Konami Tiny Toon game, which shares many mechanics and similarities with this game.
  • That One Level:
    • The first Lake level (3-3), which takes place after the Ice Cave levels, is a nightmare. It's a Swimming stage, which controls fine, except Buster is completely vulnerable underwater and cannot defend himself without relying on the Smart Bomb. So you have to carefully take your time swimming and maneuvering between enemies and the hazards. Enemies are everywhere and placed in just the right places to bug you, and there's a final stretch in the level where the current drags you through a vertical area filled with spiked hazards and enemies. All with limited health to spare, leaving minimal room for mistakes. Die and you're doing this entire slog of a level over again (With reduced health if you previously had a Heart Container!).
    • The Ice Mountain levels. Given that they involve ice, the terrain is more slippery than those of the previous levels. These levels also have enemies such as snowmen who travel in packs, Arnold the Pit Bull, who tosses bowling balls, and Gotcha Grabmore, who charges at you with her snowmobile. These levels also have disappearing platforms placed directly above beds of spikes, meaning you have to time your jumps to cross safely. If you don't land properly on the platforms, you end up falling into the spikes, which instantly kill you. If you previously had your health extended up to five hearts, this means your health has been reduced down to three until you can find more bells.
