• Polished Port: The Nintendo 3DS conversion by M2 is not only an Arcade-Perfect Port, but also added extras such as stereoscopic 3D and widescreen support, as well as an Arrange Mode that alters the levels and adds a new stage and boss based on the Sega Master System port.
• Porting Disaster: There is nothing "Super" about Super Thunder Blade, the Sega Genesis port. The Genesis cannot handle Super Scaler games, and it shows, with several overhead levels removed, absence of multi-layered scaling effects, and worst of all, it has input lag in the helicopter's movement.
• Spiritual Successor: It is pretty much the video game adaptation of Blue Thunder, with the title screen outright traced over a scene from the movie.
