YMMV / SpongeBob SquarePants: Employee of the Month

Go To

  • Fridge Brilliance: In Chapter 4, Leonard reveals he has 4,132 Identical Twins. Considering the other incidental fish often appear in duplicate form, it's likely that they are meant to be from similarly large groups of siblings.
  • Heartwarming Moments: The ending is just gorgeous, with SpongeBob and his friends having the time of their lives at Neptune's Paradise. Barnacle Boy, who is open about his negative opinion of the sponge, can even be heard congratulating him.
  • Memetic Mutation: "I don't wanna do that."Explanation
  • Narm Charm: The pre-rendered CGI cutscenes, much like Operation Krabby Patty, are very poorly rendered, leading to extremely choppy animation, inappropriate facial reactions, and botched cel-shading, but considering the scenarios animated in them are meant to be humorous to begin with, it only adds to how hilarious they are in an absurdist fashion.
  • No Problem with Licensed Games: Employee of the Month is a very well-put together Point-and-Click Game that adds a lot of depth to the world of Bikini Bottom, and makes really good use of Seinfeldian Conversations to provide an overall relaxed, yet funny experience. Plus, this is one of the very few SpongeBob games where Clancy Brown actually voices Mr. Krabs.
  • Squick: Patrick won his new camera in a bikini contest. The reason he won is because the judges believed him to have the most, "unique figure."
  • Surprisingly Improved Sequel: Operation Krabby Patty was an unimpressive Minigame Game that's mostly remembered for its cutscenes. This game, on the other hand, is a lot more enjoyable from a gameplay standpoint, being a pretty decent Point-and-Click Game in its own right, and is overall more fondly remembered.
