• Hilarious in Hindsight:
  • Christopher Lee wielding a glowing red saber several decades before being cast as Count Dooku
  • Probably even hilarious at the time: Bob Todd chasing the lead out of town. Try not to hear "Yakety Sax."
• Questionable Casting: Dennis Waterman was Hammer Productions' choice. Director Roy Ward Baker has said in interviews he thought Waterman was badly miscast.
• Special Effect Failure:
  • When Simon comes across Dracula sleeping in his coffin, a bad superimposed effect is used to simulate him opening his eyes.
  • That bat!
  • Some of the castle sets are notoriously cheap-looking, with obvious backdrops and fake stone walls.
