• Complete Monster: In the real world, Colin is a psychopathic crime lord who in the past carried out a horrific massacre that claimed at least 15 police lives and seriously traumatized the heroine Sarah. Although he was easily caught when he suggested to his colleagues to attack the city hall with nuclear weapons, his actions ruin Sarah's life, driving her into a coma and dooming her to eternal suffering.
• Tear Jerker:
  • The Downer Ending that sees Sarah reject her happy real life - including a loving marriage and a decorated career - in favor of the widowed George's Crapsack World, seemingly out of a subconscious desire to punish herself for surviving when many of her colleagues died.
  • Sarah's wife Katie being left to mourn her still-living but now permanently comatose (and possibly brain-dead) spouse, especially since it was Katie who gave Sarah access to the "vacation" technology in the first place.
