YMMV / My Little Pony Meets

Go To

  • Big-Lipped Alligator Moment:
    • In Elsa Meets, Spike uncovers the hugely obese pony from the end of the episode of the Canon series Canterlot Boutique, under a snow pile while helping with Winter Wrap Up, who chases him off screen like a rabid animal for no reason. They don't turn up again till the end of the episode, seemingly no worse for where but with no explanation for what happened.
    • Sonic Meets is surprisingly plentiful with these moments:
      • Right at the start of the episode, we have Applebloom and Dinky getting together for a picnic... before a freaking XENOMORPH comes in out of nowhere and attacks them!!! Then we get "we are experiencing technical failures" style card saying "Sorry, wrong crossover" before the episode starts again from the top, alien free.
      • We briefly have Sonic reminisce about when he and Tails first met... while we're shown live action footage of a real fox inspecting a hedgehog.
  • Harsher in Hindsight:
    • If the episode didn't go into Development Hell, Applebloom using the fact she's in the dream world, to steal Diamond Tiara's Cutie Mark and taunting her about it till she cried, would have been this after Crusaders of the Lost Mark.
    • ToonkriticY2K's cameos. Most fans wouldn't even wish him on Cozy Glow.
  • Crossover Ship: An in universe example. Rarity falls in love with Pom Pom.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight:
    • In his episode, The Joker is shown trying to find a present for Harley Quinn, leading to the conflict of the episode. Despite their attraction usually being portrayed as one sided on her part, with him only charming her to use her as a tool in his schemes. Who would have known, his next major film portrayal would also portray their relationship as less one sided.
    • Pinkie meeting Deadpool.
    • In the Rapunzel episode, despite the fact her episode would take place after the events of her movie, she has her long hair back, when it should be short and brown at the time, sometime later and we have Tangled: The Series, in which Rapunzel regains her long hair.
  • Moral Event Horizon: The Diamond Dogs cross this after they beat Spike to an inch of his life. They soon regretted it.
  • Squick: In the April Fools Day episode, Lola punches Lucy (out of anger that the whole "Going to Equestria" thing was one of Luan's pranks), giving her a bloody nose. Lucy proceeds to lick up the blood, which visibly disgusts Lola.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: "The Loud Family meets" turns out to be merrily an April Fool's joke, both in and out of universe, so we never actually get to see the Louds meet anypony. Too bad if you would have actually liked to see that happen.
  • The Woobie:
    • Lyra and Bonbon are constantly abused, while just trying to enjoy their day for no real reason.
    • And when it's not them, usually Flash Sentry get a nasty dose of abuse as well, even when he tries to avoid getting hurt he still somehow ends up on the receiving end of harm.
