- Unexpected Character:
- While the replacement characters in class 1-A all show up in the story in some way before they are named, Hikari Shimooka appears in 1-B's roster with no build up. It does not hurt her unexpectedness that the manga in which she originally appears is not very well known.
- Berri Allen, one of the Rhode Island Seven, appears at the end of the Sports Festival Arc. She also mentions Shin Sun-il as fellow Pro Hero Captain Korea, showing that this is an actual crossover with The Gamer.
- Stendhal (pre-Hero Killer Stain) and the Crawler show up in EMIYA's Heroic Sacrifice "cutscene".
