YMMV / McBusters

Go To

  • Harsher in Hindsight:
    • Harold Ramis, Dan Aykroyd and Bill Murray make an appearance in McBusters 3, where only the latter two have lines (Aykroyd commenting how bad things are getting for the McBusters and Murray quipping that this is why a third one was a bad idea, referencing his persistent reluctance towards being involved in a third Ghostbusters movie). Ramis being the only one of the three who doesn't speak is sadder in retrospect, given his death led to the third film Ghostbusters: Afterlife having the plot involve Egon Spengler dying and his ghost represented using body doubles edited to look like Ramis while speaking no lines.
    • Morgan Spurlock appearing as a villain as well as his zealous obsession with discrediting the McBusters (to the degree that he cares more about driving them out of business for the sake of it rather than to stop them from selling unhealthy food) become more disturbing in light of his documentary Super Size Me receiving accusations of Spurlock's experiment of eating only McDonald's food for an extended period of time being misleading due to Spurlock withholding that he was vegan before he started his experiment, had a history of alcoholism and was constantly forcing himself to eat more food than he can stomach (therefore causing his McDonald's-only diet to affect his health to a much worse degree than it would have done to the health of your average fast food consumer) as well as Spurlock eventually confessing to sexual misconduct.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: Morgan Spurlock first appears planning to discredit the McBusters by filming a sequel to Super Size Me, with Hamburglar scoffing that it won't work because everyone knows sequels suck. Super Size Me eventually would get a sequel called Super Size Me 2: Holy Chicken!, which was actually lauded as being better than its predecessor in spite of the controversy of Spurlock admitting his history of sexual harassment prior to the film's release.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: Birdie the Early Bird would've been better off serving as the Janine Melnitz equivalent rather than only appearing as a demonic hallucination suffered by Mayor McCheese during his food coma in the final video.
