• Adorkable: All four girls qualify, but Sayori especially so.
• Awesome Art: The art style is cute and endearing, fitting for the series. The art showcased on their Instagram, though, really elevates the style with much more detail and polish, and a light case of Costume Porn. People also noted that it's reminiscent of Adventure Time.
• Ensemble Dark Horse: The Lub Dub Writing Club were well-received in their first appearance, with viewers already asking them to be made into the Dokis' official rivals.
• Evil Is Cool: The Demon possessing Sakura is the only legitimate threat in the series, and it is scarily good at preying on humans.
• Fan Nickname: The series itself was never given an official title so some fans refer to it as "DDLC: The Animated Series".
• Moe: Sayori so much so.
• She Really Can Act: The voice acting for the Dokis is surprisingly good, considering it's done by two sisters who are fans of the game. Even more impressive when you find out that one voices Monika and Sayori while the other voices Natsuki and Yuri, two sets of characters who are very much polar opposites.
• The Woobie: Poor Sakura who had the misfortune of being possessed by a man eating demon forcing her to hide from everyone to avoid getting them killed.
