  • First Installment Wins: Most of the Japanese fanbase prefers the first two games to the sequels, arguing that Blaze delivers a more simplified Arcade-like experience (for example, the once-per-mission helicopter refuel is changed for pick-up items), while Allied Strike tries to be mode sim-like yet more similar to Armored Core / MechAssault but fails at both. The fact that series creator Takeshi Miyaji (of Lunar, Grandia and Silpheed fame) wasn't involved in the last two games probably helped.
  • Invisible Advertising: The western release of the first game had essentially no marketing from Sega, a fact that some publications lamented in their reviews of the game.
  • Obvious Beta: Between its abundance of bugs, very rough presentation and complete absence of any ending, Allied Strike is not the most polished of games.
