YMMV / Guitar Hero World Tour: Definitive Edition

  • Crosses the Line Twice: Thanks to the community-driven nature of the mod, this can be all over the place, even more so with the custom animated songs. Have fun seeing some of history's worst monsters sing Spice Girls.
  • Fandom Rivalry:
    • With Clone Hero, another fan-driven Spiritual Successor to Guitar Hero. While Definitive Edition uses World Tour as a base, thus making gameplay Truer to the Text even with the QoL updates, Clone Hero was built from the ground up in Unity, constantly running the risks of deviating from the source materials whether it be from people manipulating the framework's backend giving them much more graceful hit times or making needlessly complicated chiptune songs that are very far removed from Guitar Hero's roots.
    • In a roundabout way of History Repeats, Fortnite Festival has brought back discussions of Guitar Hero vs Rock Band due to it also being a revival of the band rhythm genre, taking pride in its outlandishly hilarious Massive Multiplayer Crossover lineup. The irony of Fortnite Festival being developed by Harmonix while Definitive Edition was unofficially backed and aided by former Neversoft developers was not lost on people.
  • Spiritual Successor: To MTV's Video Mods which also featured a Massive Multiplayer Crossover of video game characters.
