• Tear Jerker: The third part of the The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask trilogy soon dives into this with the African folk story of the Moon Child^note (Long story short: the celestial demigod Bulane, who carried the symbol of the full moon on his chest, had two wives, the older bearing him three sons with stars and crescents on them, and the youger finally bearing him a son with the full moon on him. The older wife got jealous and took the baby to kill him, but a mouse saved the child and he got eventually taken in by a group of merchants. When someone from Bulane's household saw him and noticed the similarities and the full moon, he told Bulane, who went in person and took his child back, banishing the evil older wife), especially with Gaijin theorizing Majora was that child but he didn't get a happy ending. Even Majora is left without words and can only scream.
