- Alternative Joke Interpretation: In the song "Fat", Yankovic claims that when he goes to the beach, he's "the only one who gets a tan." Some have taken it as meaning that he blocks the sun for everyone else, while others assumed that he was the only one on the beach because he took up all the space. Either way, it works well for a song that is an extra-long fat joke.
- Crosses the Line Twice: In "Good Old Days", the narrator reminisces how he bashed in a grocery store owner's head...and then says, "You should have seen the look on his face."
- Win Back the Crowd: Thanks in large part to him returning to the Michael Jackson material for his lead single that many people associated with him, Even Worse was seen as a successful return to form after the critical and commercial failure of Polka Party!. This would be the first of many times that people would say "Weird Al is back!" before it became nearly an every-album occurrence.
