- Acceptable Targets: Over-the-top "Ammosexual" Gun Nut types in "Trigger-Happy".
- Misaimed Fandom: Al received quite a bit of fan mail after recording "Trigger Happy." Some of these writers did not grasp the satire.
- Retroactive Recognition: His 1992 video "Smells Like Nirvana" contains many extras, including some recruited from the skater punk scene. As a result, an established but pre-mainstream Tony Hawk appears in the video, a fact that eluded Al for over fifteen years until Tony revealed the truth on Twitter.
- Values Dissonance: "Trigger Happy" is a lot harder to play for absurdity given shootings, mass or not, that have occurred since. That said, it may still resonate with those in favor of stronger gun regulations and assault-weapon bans, as it's the perfect skewering of the sort of thing that makes gun violence possible.
