  • Goddamned Bats: The bat-like Oculothorax creatures; they often swing down to attack you while you're busy with mooks (and break your combo chain) and like to hang about in the air, forcing you to jump up and get rid of them.
    • Also the mage mooks, who cast lightning bolts on top of you when you're dealing with bigger fry. It pays to get rid of them first.
  • It's Short, So It Sucks!: Many players complain about the short length of the game's Story Mode as it could be beaten within an afternoon's worth of playtime, give or take. The later re-releases would go on to add more modes such as an Endless/Survival Mode and online leaderboards, though some still decry about the game's short length.
  • It's the Same, Now It Sucks!: On PC, some of the owners of Sigma on Steam decried the Deluxe Edition is more-or-less the same as the previous version and label it as a glorified DLC replacement, despite how much more content was added. Not helping Deluxe Edition's case was how the game was given such a short-lived loyalty discount and similarly short-lived coupon for the owners of the previous release, with Deluxe Edition at full price costing more than twice as much as Sigma did and even four times that over the original.
  • Polished Port: The PlayStation 4/Vita and Switch version of the game brought a larger host of new features on top of Cröixleur Σ what offered, such as shinier graphics, more playable characters with their own unique Story Mode, new gameplay modes, the ability to customize your characters' appearance with accessories and costumes (the former giving passive effects as well), customizable controls, and co-op multiplayer (except for the PC version). The Switch and Steam version (the latter being dubbed Deluxe Edition to differentiate itself from the previous version) also comes with all DLCs from the PlayStation 4 and Vita versions, while the latter supports a wide array of PC-compatible controllers with the option to change the button prompts to match.
