- Anvilicious: The WWII newsreel footage has the effect of making what was merely subtext in the other two versions far more blatant.
- Fan Nickname: "Cozzilla" and "Psychedelic Godzilla".
- Padding: Big time. The film wasn't long enough, so Cozzi added in as much pointless stock footage as possible, wherever possible. One of the weirdest examples would be when Ogata and Serizawa dive down to kill Godzilla, and for no particular reason stop to watch a shark and octopus fight to the death, using footage culled from The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms.
- Special Effect Failure: The colorization technique used was certainly no They Shall Not Grow Old, leaving several scenes with odd psychedelic tints. For some, though, this is part of the experience.
