• Critical Dissonance: This particular episode stands out, because while it was savaged by most critics who saw it, many viewers thought it was the best episode of season 4 as of that airing.
• Hilarious in Hindsight:
  • Matt Lucas plays Toby, an Inspector Spacetime superfan, who agrees with Abed that the Christmas Special was terrible. From 2015, Lucas played Doctor Who companion Nardole, whose first two appearances were in Christmas specials.
  • Inspector Spacetime had a female incarnation called Minerva, who everybody thought sucked. As of 2018, the Doctor regenerated into a female incarnation, played by Jodie Whittaker. The writing quality of the era has since been hotly debated and contested (though in less part due to Whittaker's performance, and more because of several rather controversial retcons), and has resulted in what can easily be describe as one of, if not the largest case of Broken Base in the Doctor Who fandom ever.
