YMMV / Chaldea in Remnant

Go To

  • Hilarious in Hindsight:
    • In chapter 3, when the CCT in Vale is restored and the network is back online, Ironwood mentions that he's been growing frustrated with Jacques, who's been trying to push his way into politics. Come Volume 7, and Jacques is currently running for a seat in the Atlas Council.
    • In the fanfic, Kadoc somehow managed to survive the events of the Lostbelt arc and underwent Adaptational Heroism, siding with Chaldea and living through the experience in the process. Come to find out in the second half of the Olympus Lostbelt, he sides with Chaldea and the Proper Human History resistance, though whether or not he's joined with Chaldea for good remains to be seen at the time of this writing.
  • Unexpected Character:
    • The fact that Chaldea could summon Heroic Spirits native to Remnant was a surprising twist In-Universe, but something many readers were expecting. What people were not expecting was the author choosing Pyrrha Nikos and Ozma to be the first Remnant Servants to be summoned by Chaldea. While Pyrrha's case could be argued, Ozma's is more noteworthy considering that Ozpin is still around. This is even discussed between Ozma and Kadoc, with Ozma theorizing that Ozpin's participation in many of Remnant's fairy tales (The Girl in the Tower, the Two Brothers, the Four Seasons) may have provided enough of a connection to allow for his summoning.
    • While the possibility of them being summoned was discussed by fans, no one expected Roman Torchwick to become a Pseudo-Servant, much less playing host to legendary Gentleman Thief Arsène Lupin!
  • What Do You Mean, It's Not Political?: An unusual meta version in that the author admitted he was hesitant to include the Wendigo Grimm in Chapter 7 on account of the controversy surrounding it and RoosterTeeth's fan Grimm competitionExplanation
