  • Award Snub: While Arnett won an Annie Award for his performance in this episode, not only did he not win an Emmy for this episode, he wasn't even nominated. But this episode was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Primetime Animated Program, but it lost to a rather unremarkable episode of The Simpsons, which, by this time fans agree, has overstayed its welcome long enough.
  • Crosses the Line Twice: Bojack spends the entire episode delivering a reflective and emotionally exhausting eulogy for his mother, only to realize he was at the wrong funeral.
  • Genius Bonus: Butterscotch mentions that Beatrice saw A Doll's House and then locked herself in the bedroom to weep. The play, often considered Henrik Ibsen's masterpiece, is about a couple who marry not out of love or a mutual connection, but because of the societal expectation, leading to them to be virtual strangers to each other: Beatrice and Butterscotch entered a Shotgun Wedding, in part because the values of the time held the former up to be Defiled Forever because of her one night stand. Being both strangers, their marriage quickly takes a turn for the worse, and ends up becoming loveless and abusive.
  • He Really Can Act: Will Arnett being able to monologue for nearly 22 minutes straight.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: One of BoJack's anecdotes is a fan encounter asking him about a coffee cup blooper in Horsin' Around. Some time after this episode aired, many fans would catch a Starbucks cup and various water bottles left in shots of episodes of Game of Thrones.
