YMMV / Barbie in the 12 Dancing Princesses

• Awesome Music: The theme song that plays over the end credits, performed by Cassidy Ladden. Shine. The music by Mendelssohn throughout the film is gorgeous as well, especially the theme of his that plays when they enter the magical pavilion.
• Crossover Ship: Blairetta, which pairs Blair with Brietta from Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus. The equestrian princess and the princess enchanted into an equine has a certain appeal among writers on Archive of Our Own.
• Ensemble Dark Horse: Blair apparently, considering how often she appears in fanfic as a main character (many in union with Brietta), overshadowing her younger sister Genevieve, the actual main character.
• Fanon:
  • Queen Isabella's cause of death is never specified, though lots of fans believe she died of childbirth complications either during or shortly after the triplets were born (some fans argue she probably didn't die right after given Genevieve says the triplets might not remember their mother much, indicating she was still around for at least some of the girls' early childhood, but that labor complications was what ultimately caused her demise). It wouldn't be all that surprising given Isabella had already given birth to nine children (with most of the girls looking pretty close in age, indicating she was continuously pregnant a lot), she was having a multiple birth (for a third time) and may have been an older mother by this point (based on her husband's and daughters' ages), all of which can contribute to pregnancy/birth complications, though beyond Isabella dying several years before the triplets' fifth birthday, there's never any hint that this is why she died in the film and tie-in materials (understandably, given the film is aimed at young children).
  • Delia and Edeline are often considered twins, even on this page, mostly due to the fact that they share the same hobbies and the same model. However, while Hadley and Isla are specifically mentioned to be twins, and the youngest three triplets, they are never actually introduced as such.
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: Out of the twelve dancing princesses, only two of them get a decent amount of screentime. Made even worse since the younger twins are Single-Minded Twins and the triplets are Palette Swaps of each other.
