• Growing the Beard: The early shorts are enjoyable, but unremarkable cartoons, but as with Woody Woodpecker, the series direction and design sense improved when Shamus Culhane and Dick Lundy took over directing duties.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: The opening of "Life Begins for Andy Panda" is eerily similar to the opening of Bambi, which came out just a few years later. A baby rabbit even tells another animal about the new baby animal!
• Jerkass Woobie: Poppa Panda, especially in the cartoon where he breaks down crying over his inability to fix his roof.
