- All Animation Is Disney: Besides being a clear knockoff of Disney's version of the story, it could also easily be mistaken for a DiC Entertainment production, and used some of the same overseas animation houses DiC typically used at the time.
- Anti-Climax Boss: Haseem dies like a total buffoon by tripping on his cape and accidentally stabbing himself with his sword.
- It's the Same, Now It Sucks!: Its faithfulness to the original story has created lack of interest on watching this film, especially in those who are more used to the Disney version.
- Narm Charm: Haseem's death is still pretty frightening despite the animation problems and the randomness of the event.
- Nightmare Fuel: Near the end of the movie, Haseem disguises himself as Fatima by murdering and scalping the real Fatima.
