Oddly enough, this indie game has been a cesspool of controversy and weirdness that would ruin the community's experience. As such, here are the following incidents that happened at FNF's mods:
- Vs Sky:
- bbpanzu deleted the mod off of GameBanana due to not only people harassing him over what bfswifeforever was doing after the mod got popular, but also because people were both harassing the account owner and making pornographic fanart of the character, whose creator is a minor, out of spite.note
- The mod's page
on Funkipedia was edit locked for the same reasons, and partnership with several Roblox Friday Night Funkin' multiplayer games were canceled, causing the Sky songs (and in a specific game, purchaseable singing animations based on Sky) to be removed from them. These decisions appear to have been reversed following the release of Sky Remanifested and the re-upload of the original mod.
- Vs Whitty: SockClip left the Friday Night Funkin' community and canceled all work on the "WhitMore" expansion for it due to people on social media harassing Homskiy (the creator of Tabi's mod) for the similarities between Tabi and Whitty's poses and charting for "Ballistic" and "Genocide", accusing Homskiy of ripping off Whittynote .
- A shared one with literally every fnf mod ever and Salty's Sunday Night: The ship between Opheebop and Bob was rendered non-canon because Tsuraran was getting uncomfortable with seeing fan animations of Ron beating up Opheebop because she's a woman.
- Vs Spong: The remaster's excessive popularity, which resulted in constant leaks surfacing on YouTube and a heavy amount of pressure, caused a decline in Bmv277's mental health, leading to the remaster being cancelled and its unfinished assets being given to the public. The original mod was trashed from GameBanana some time later.
