Starting in 2016, Warner Brothers launched a new series of one of their biggest properties Scooby-Doo but this time full-length movies with LEGO, these seemingly taking the place of the former half-hour specials that went Direct to Video.
For the most part everything is the same with the exception of the new style of making them. 2017 confirmed that this in itself was a new series instead of a one-off.
For the longer-running series of Scooby Doo movies see Scooby-Doo Direct-to-Video Film Series.
The films overall commonly provide examples of the following tropes:
- Art Evolution: While not the first thing Lego has done with Scooby, Haunted Hollywood was the first movie of this kind to be similar to how Warner Brothers also makes Lego DC movies. But now is its own series.
- "Scooby-Doo" Hoax: As per usual with the series.
- Spiritual Successor: The follow up to the former specials that used to be on compilation DVDs and being the new "that other Scooby DTV series".
