"Baby Puss" is a 1943 Tom and Jerry cartoon directed by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera.

A little girl is playing house, with Tom (unwillingly) playing the part of the baby. Jerry makes fun of Tom, leading to the usual chase, but then things really get going when the local alley cats come to join in on the mockery.

Tropes:

  • All in the Manual: The girl’s name is Nancy.
  • Cats Are Mean: The alley cats mercilessly torment Tom just because he’s being treated like a baby.
  • The Diaper Change: After getting his diaper soaked in a fishbowl, the alley cats change Tom, but in the manner of surgeons.
  • The Faceless: Nancy!
  • Jerkass: The alley cats that torment Tom.
  • Karma Houdini: The alley cats get off scotts-free for all the abuse they put Tom through. They flee upon Nancy’s return, leaving Tom to take the heat. Jerry on the other hand…
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Jerry, however, gets what he has coming for luring those cats into the house. Some of the castor oil Nancy forces Tom to take spills into Jerry’s mouth and he pukes it out.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: The alley cats flee when Nancy returns, leaving Tom to take the heat.
  • Squirrels in My Pants: After changing his diaper, the cats drop a live fish down Tom's pants, causing him to writhe in rhythm, leading to a music number.
  • Vomit Discretion Shot: Tom and Jerry puke the castor oil they swallow out the window.
